Embedded Butterfly

Here's another sample of the Embedded Butterfly that is so pretty:

I started with a base of Rich Razzleberry, cut 4-1/4" x 11".  Then comes a layer (4" x 5-1/4") of Whisper White.

The beautiful Bohemian Designer Series Paper is 3-3/4" x 5" and I used the Butterfly Thinlits to cut out the butterfly shape.  I used the same thinlit to cut a butterfly from Whisper White card stock.  And here's the key--I layered the Bohemian DSP over a smaller piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, adhered it to the card front, and nestled the white butterfly into the cutout.

I stamped the greeting from You've Got This in Versamark ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder.

Quick and easy...and so pretty!

Team Get-Together - Join Us!

Now is the perfect time to join Stampin' UP!  For just $99 (no shipping costs!) you get to choose $125 worth of product.  AND RIGHT NOW you also get to pick two (TWO!) FREE stamp sets!  Through the month of June, you get two extra FREE stamp sets from the brand new Stampin' UP! catalog.

Know what else you get?  Me!  That's right--you get to join my team of fabulous demonstrators...and we have fun!  Here's a sample:

We get together every 2-3 months for a little business, a little celebration, and lots of stampin'.  Last month there were 7 of us, and we had such fun stampin' with NEW stamps and goodies.  This was our project--a box of cards.  It uses Tip Top Taupe as a base, with a vellum inset cover.  We stamped the vellum with the beautiful flower from You've Got This, and tied it all up with a bow of the gorgeous new Dotted Lace Trim (yummy!).

And inside--three cards (Stampin' UP! Note Cards) and envelopes using all new goodies:

First up--Build a Birthday, stamping the cake stand in Cucumber Crush and the topper in Watermelon Wonder, with strips of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper layers.  And the Envelope Paper is to die for--such fun in Cucumber Crush stripes!

More Watermelon Wonder, using the You're So Sweet stamp set.  We stamped the star image, then used the coordinating star framelit from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets to cut it out.  It's backed with Watermelon Wonder card stock, tied up with Whisper White Bakers Twine and blinged out with some Gold Sequin Trim.

Finally:
Such a pretty card...Mint Macaron and You've Got This--what could be better?  So easy to stamp the background on the note card, then add a layer with the flower and sentiment in one color (the flower is stamped off) and tied up with some Linen  Thread.  The layer is popped up with Dimensionals, and a coordinating envelope (Envelope Punch Board)makes the perfect touch.

Who wouldn't enjoy receiving a gift of a box of cards?  And who wouldn't enjoy getting together with friends for an afternoon of stampin' and fun?  Click here, choose "Join the Fun" and come join us!  You have nothing to lose and two FREE stamp sets to gain!  Along with some new friends...C'mon; what are you waiting for?

A Shirt and Tie for Dad

Here's a fun and cute way to send good wishes to your Dad, brother, or husband:

This adorable template so easy to create with the Envelope Punch Board.  I used the now-retired paper stack from the Occasions Catalog because it had that great sweater pattern, but you could use any DSP or cardstock for the vest--just imagine it in black for a tuxedo!

Anyway, start by making an envelope from cardstock (I used Crumb Cake).  Snip off the two shorter flaps, leaving the longer ones that overlap in the front.  Adhere Designer Series Paper as desired, or leave plain; adhere the flaps with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and add your embellishment--a button with Linen Thread in the holes did it for me.

I also took a small strip of Crumb Cake and made a "pocket" (and added a pocket square using the same herringbone paper as the bow tie).

Now for the insert:
Cut your insert an inch longer than your "vest".  Measure 1" from the top and snip 1-1/4" from each side--this makes your collar.  Bring the ends together in the front and use a glue dot to adhere each point of the collar.  Then add your bow tie, made using the Bow Builder Punch.  Adorbs!

This is going to my Dad for his birthday next week, but it would make a wonderful Father's Day card too!
