Celebratory Sips

In need of an anniversary card?  Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper to the rescue!

 With a few sheets of the patterned paper, the Meant to Bee dies and some paper snips, you can create a cute card.

I started with a card base of Timid Tiger, and added a piece of Cloud Cover (two new In Colors).  Then I cut a piece of the designer paper with the Meant to Bee hexagons; I used the next smaller die to cut another in Cloud Cover.  These dies create the hexagon AND a skinny outline of the hexagon at the same time.  I used the skinny piece of Cloud Cover to add inside my opening, which highlights the second piece of designer paper underneath.

A third sheet of the paper pack has a whole bunch of glasses - short wine glasses and taller drink glasses.  I simply cut two of them with Paper Snips and popped them up on the card front.

All that was needed was a greeting - stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Cloud Cover cardstock and flagged on one end.

And oh yeah - I popped on a few of the Flat In Color pearls to finish off.

And there you have it - a simple anniversary card with very little stamping!  Let the Designer Paper shine!

Here's a fun card we created at my monthly stamp class last weekend. 

I called it a "choose your own adventure" card, as the attendees got to pick which glasses they wanted on the front of their cards from the Celebratory Sips designer series paper.  The glasses of wine and cocktails are printed on the paper; we had dies to cut them out.  So everyone got to choose their own.

The patterned paper on the left side of the card is also from the Celebratory Sips DSP.  It's mounted on a piece of Timid Tiger cardstock - a new In Color available May 6th when the 2025-26 Annual Catalog makes its debut. 

 Here are the two glasses I chose; the taller one had an umbrella as part of the design, but it gets cut off when the die is used to cut the glass.  So I stamped and cut a little umbrella using the Cheers & Sips stamps/dies.  

And check out the die cut panels behind the glasses - cut with the Textured Notes dies (available now in the OnLine Exclusives) which includes several rectangle dies all with different borders.  They layer beautifully and give lots of added texture to your cards!

And finished with some of the 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls that coordinate perfectly with the new In Colors!

When we were done, everyone had a slightly different card - they chose their own adventure!

Cheers & Sips - Meant to Bee

I'm not done playing with the Cheers & Sips bundle - it's so much fun to find new ways to celebrate with this set!

 And bring in the Meant to Bee dies - hexagon shapes that cut not only the hexagon but also a border around each one.  And there are multiple dies in the set, so you can create lots of layers!

I started with a piece of the new Secret Sea cardstock - a beautiful new In Color (available May 6th) that is a rich deep, smoky blue.  I cut it to 4-1/4" x 11, and then lopped off 2" from one end; it's still scored at 5-1/2", creating a slightly shorter front piece.

Then I started layering the hexagons - Granny Apple Green on the bottom, followed by the white border piece (you'll see the white hexagon inside) around one of Crushed Curry.  And I topped it off with a little hexagon of now-retired designer series paper in Granny Apple Green.

The hexagons gave me an unusual front flap, and I decorated it with two drink glasses cut with the Cheers & Sips dies.  I colored the "drinks" with Stampin' Blends, and added a sprig of something (basil?) to one.  They were cut with the coordinating dies and adhered with Dimensionals.

And inside:

Now I used the borders from the Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green hexagons on the front, along with the Basic White one.  I love the layered effect!

More Cheers & Sips

Yesterday I showed you my goofy anniversary card for my husband, but it doesn't really show what you can do with the Cheers & Sips bundle of stamps and dies.  So today I have another card that is a bit more "serious"?  At least it was created with good intentions to celebrate a friend's birthday:

For this card, I actually stamped the glass (unlike yesterday when I cut it directly from the patterned paper).  I stamped it on the Celebratory Sips DSP, a piece that has several "blobs" of "wine"--I stamped the glass over it, then cut it out and voila - a filled glass!  

I also stamped and colored some blackberries and a strawberry (because who doesn't love a little sangria?), and cut an extra blackberry for an embellishment.  

My glass was layered onto a Basic White circle cut with the Spotlight on Nature dies, then mounted to a card base of Blackberry Bliss and a strip of the DSP.  

This is going to be a fun set for celebrations!  It will be available through the OnLine Exclusives starting May 4th when the new 2025-26 Annual Catalog goes live.

Cheers & Sips

Here's a story for you:

When my brother brought Jim home to New York from USC for Christmas 1974, I felt "something" at our first meeting at the airport. Within a week I knew he would be my guy forever. He didn't know it yet. But when he left on NY Day, we vowed to keep in touch, and with MANY long-distance phone calls (remember them?) and near-daily letters, we did. On June 9, 1975 I moved to California, and we moved in together on June 20th! We were engaged by July 4th, and got married the following March. Our wedding was a bittersweet affair - Jim's dad was terminally ill, so we moved our June NY wedding to his parents' living room in March. Two days before our wedding the family-friend judge who was supposed to marry us had a stroke. After a full day of phone calls, a justice of the CA Supreme Court agreed to do the job. My parents flew out, my brother played guitar, and the 13 guests were solemn, but it was one of the 4 happiest days of my life. And here we are, 49 years later, with 3 fabulous kids (the other 3 happiest days of my life), 10 incredible grandkids, and wonderful memories of our life together. Could I be any more blessed?

And I made a cheesy card. But I used some new products and I'll show you the new Cheers & Sips stamps and dies:

I mean, what kind of card do you make for a guy with whom you've spent a lifetime? I just wanted to celebrate our years together...

The drink glasses were cut with the Cheers & Sips dies directly from the Celebratory Sips designer series paper. The die does not cut out the sprig of (what is that?) basil (?) in the glass, but there is a stamp for it. After stamping and coloring it, I used another die to cut it out, matching up the stem to it looks like what was in the patterned paper.

Then the letters...I wanted to use the Mini Alphabet dies, but they don't include numbers. Fortunately I have held onto my "vintage" Playful Alphabet dies, so I cut those out of the designer paper (there is a full page of images that look like what you put in wine glasses, so I just took three of them and cut out the letters).

The background DSP is also from the same package.

And inside:

Yeah, cheesy and silly, but just perfect for my guy!
