A Triangle Flap Fold Card for Merry Monday

I had someone ask how to make this card - a Triangle Flap Fold card.   I didn't have directions on my old post (from 2023!) so I recreated it using new products:

The card base is Cherry Cobbler, and the designer paper is from the Traditions of Christmas pack of 12" x 12" paper.  I'm including some step-by-step photos so you can make one of your own.

Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".  Score it on the long edge at 4-1/4".  Then on the side that will be the front of your card, cut on a diagonal from the top center score line to the bottom, outer corner, as shown.  This will create the triangle on the front of the card.

Now take a piece of designer paper, measuring 4" x 5-1/4", and cut it from the top left side to the bottom right corner - this will cover your triangle on the front of the card.

To create the flap, cut your cardstock to 8" x 3", and score at 4".

A little hard to see, but to make the "point" on the flap, I measured 1" from the edge and 1" from the bottom corner up - you'll see little pencil marks on my paper here.  Cut each corner off, creating the flap that looks like the photo above this one.  Repeat on the other end.

Add a white layer to the inside and outside of the flap.

Now adhere a piece of designer paper to the inside of your card; this piece measures 4" x 5-1/4".  (I used the dotted piece from the Traditions of Christmas paper).

Stamp your greeting on the inside of the flap, then adhere it to the inside of the card, matching up the flat, folded edge of flap to the edge of the patterned paper inside.

Fold the front triangle over the inside of the card, then fold the flap over the front:

Add your greeting to the front of the flap (I used the Nested Essentials to cut a tag, and heat-embossed the greeting from Ornamental Christmas in gold, then cut the holly leaves from the Keeping Traditions stamps, popping them up on my label).  I embossed the white layer with the Beautiful Pattern embossing folder.  Add a few jewels (mine are from the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar).  And your card is complete!

I hope you'll give this fun-fold a try!
