Full of Life Birthday Card

Don't you love it when the universe aligns?  When all your obligations come together perfectly?

Well this weekend will be that alignment for me.  First I have a baby shower to attend.  But it's in Southern California.  So I decided to first visit my daughter in San Diego.  I'll be there for two nights and then we'll drive north to Pasadena for the baby shower.  And while I'm there I'll visit my mother-in-law.  Then I'll stay with my sister for two more nights before heading home.

And...I was also invited to my grand-nephew's birthday party.  And wouldn't you know it?  It's the same weekend!   But as luck would have it, it's the day after the baby shower and it's in Santa Barbara.  So my sister and I will drive north for the party on Sunday.  And I'll fly home Monday.  Whew!

Here's a birthday card I created for Noah, who is turning 8:

I don't really have any little kid stamps, as all my child-relatives are different.  Different ages, and different interests.  But I DO have years and years worth of Paper Pumpkin stamps.

Did you know that every Paper Pumpkin kit comes with an exclusive stamp set?  They are used to complete the Paper Pumpkin projects, but if you save them, you might find they are perfect for an 8-year old's birthday.

I pulled out this stamp set from 2021!  And then I went to work.

The background paper is from the Full of Life pack.  I love the starburst patterns of several of the papers (in different colors).  I cut it down to 3-3/4"x 5" for my card, mounting it on a piece of Basic White, and then on a Shaded Spruce card base.

Using the Spotlight on Nature dies, I cut a Shaded Spruce circle.  Then I cut a white circle to go on top.  The popsicle is stamped and colored with Stampin' Blends, and the greeting was stamped and cut into pieces to pop up on the card.

If you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, be sure to catalog your stamps.  You never know when one will come in handy for a kid's birthday card!  😊

A Stampin' UP! Tote

I like to send my customers a "little somethin' somethin'" and a hand-made card when they place an order with me.  And when I saw what Liz Shannon had done with the Notes & Totes dies, I knew I had to copy it.

GAK!  It's a Stampin' UP! tote bag!

When I attended the OnStage convention in March, demonstrators were given a black tote bag.  It wasn't exactly like this, but close enough.

Then I took the stamps and dies from Crafting With You (on the Last Chance List!) to create a thank you card for crafters!

I love this little tote!  And it can be used as a gift card holder, or, as used here, to hold other little items.

And check out the background!  That is the new Corrugated embossing folder - so fun!

After creating and adhering the tote to the card front, I added the Cut & Emboss machine, a pair of Paper Snips, some bakers twine (in two colors - Strawberry Slush and Summer Splash) and the Paper Trimmer, all stamped/cut with Crafting With You bundle.

Notes & Totes will be available when the 2025-26 Annual Catalog goes live, May 6th.  Be sure to pick up your bundle; you are sure to have a blast creating with it!

And be sure to check out the Last Chance List - Crafting With You will be retiring by May 6th and you won't want to miss out!

Sweet Pea

I'm going to a baby shower next weekend.  My nephew and his wife are having their first baby, and the theme of the shower is "home grown".  I noticed that the invitation (very cute) was sprinkled with tiny vegetables and flowers to fit the theme.

So I was perusing Pinterest to get ideas for a baby card and saw one that just seemed to be perfect.  Cindy Brumbaugh had created a very cute card using the Sweet Peas stamp set...and the thought of "peas" felt very "homegrown" to me.  So I CASED Cindy's card.

Is that not the cutest?  😍

And I'll bet you'll never guess whether this child will be a girl or a boy...😆

OK, they are having a little girl, so I went with pinks!  Surprise!

A card base of Melon Mambo was topped with a layer of Pretty in Pink - such a great combo!  On my white layer I stamped the leaves in two directions (it's just one stamp, inked and stamped twice).

Then I added a layer of the Full of Life designer paper; it's a 6" x 6" sheet of multicolors that I cut so just the pink area is on the card.

The Nested Essentials dies made the perfect die-cut to stamp the tiny pea and greeting.  And everything is colored with Stampin' Blends.

I finished with a few of the soon-to-be-retired In Color Shimmer Gems (the Shimmer Gems are retiring but new Flat Pearls will be coming in the same colors).

I think my "home grown" card will be just perfect for this wonderful baby shower!

Be sure to check out the Last Chance list of products that are retiring May 5th or when sold out.  There are some great bargains and products you might have missed.  (Sweet Peas is on sale!)

Interactive Gift Card Holder

Today is my grandson, Nate's 12th birthday.  H loves his video games (like almost every 12-year old?) so we gave him a gift card so he can purchase one.  But me being me, I needed to present it in a special way!  Fortunately I remembered I had posted, long ago, a video on how to make an Interactive Gift Card Holder.  So I brought up the video, checked the directions, and created this:

 So what's the "interactive" part?

Watch:

Isn't that cool?

I used Blueberry Bushel and Lemon Lime Twist (great boy celebration colors!) and found some of my DSP stash of Bright & Beautiful paper in the same colors.  I actually asked ChatGPT (AI) for a third color choice, and got the suggestion of Pumpkin Pie.

So I created a little banner, using the Birthday Celebrations dies (an OnLine Exclusive) to add to the top of my card.  Unfortunately, I no longer have a small alphabet set or dies that will fit on this tiny banner, so I had to resort to my own printing - not the greatest, but still effective, right?

The Happy Birthday was cut with the Wanted to Say dies, a great set that cuts the "bubble" behind the words as well as the words themselves.  It also has a die to make the stars!  So fun!

And inside, the pocket that lifts the gift card.  I added the "12" using the Birthday Celebrations dies too.

I hope he likes his gift!  😊
