I can't get enough of the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper! This pretty papers in yellows and greens is so cheery!
For my card class this month I chose to make a fun-fold card using it:
This is a pocket card - you create the outside "pocket" that holds the inside "note".
The gorgeous paper is background to a spotlight of another flower. And it is quite easy to make.
We started with a piece of Old Olive cardstock measuring 5-1/2" x 11". It's scored at 3-1/2" and 7-3/4". On the side panel that is 3-1/4" wide, measure from the bottom of the 5-1/2" side to 3-1/2", and cut on the diagonal from that mark to the score line (at 3-1/4"). Trim off the triangle that it makes at the top.
On the other side of the cardstock, again measure up 3-1/2" from the bottom and cut from there to the score line at 3-1/2".
Now you'll need two pieces of designer paper - one side (my Old Olive side above) measures 2" x 5-1/4". On the right side of the paper, measure 4" from the bottom, and cut to the top left corner, removing a triangle-shaped piece from the top.
The other paper measures 3-1/4" x 5-1/4". Measure on the left side to 3-3/8", and cut from there to the top right corner. These two pieces will adhere to the front of your card (the narrower piece looks like it's too small, but since the card front folds over, you won't notice that there is no patterned paper there).
Then fold the narrower side in, with the wider side folded over it to create a pocket (use a strong adhesive on the bottom of the narrow side, and along the side and bottom of the wider side to hold the pocket closed.
We used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut the circle for the front, and the Delightful Wishes dies for the flower.
Then for your inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3-7/8" x 4-5/8". Stamp as desired and adhere to a piece of cardstock measuring 4" x 4-3/4". Punch a small hole in the top and add some ribbon. Now when you insert it into your pocket, you can easily extract it.
This card takes a little extra time to create, but is such a joy to receive! I know your recipients will love it!
