JOY

I love the huge letter dies in the Party Alphabet set!  Big and boxy, they are perfect for creating banners or titles on scrapbook pages.  But they are also great for card-making, as long as you keep the words short! 😁

So for my All Christmas card classes this past weekend, we pulled out the dies and created a very simple holiday card.

Using some Textured Gold cardstock, we cut the letters, then mounted them with Black Dimensionals on some Modern Christmas designer paper.  this was adhered to a small layer of Basic Black, then on to the Textured Gold layer, all on top of a Basic Black card base.

All that was needed was a small bow of Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon.

Isn't that an elegant card?

Holly Jolly Merry Monday

It was an "all Christmas" card club this weekend. We created four holiday-themed cards, so I'll show them this week.

First up, a "holly jolly" card featuring Shaded Spruce and Soft Seafoam, two oft-forgotten colors.

The background was embossed with the Peaceful Greenery embossing folder, which creates a "label-sized" space in the center, perfect for layering our labels. But before adding the labels, we adhered some Shaded Spruce/Soft Seafoam ribbon around the middle.

We heat-embossed the greeting (from Keeping Traditions) with clear embossing powder after first stamping in Shaded Spruce, followed by Versamark.

The holly leaves were fussy-cut, with added Wink of Stella for some extra shine. And don't you love those Traditional Sparkling Sequins? Just the right touch to finish off our card.

These products are all from the September - December 2025 Mini Catalog and are available now.

GingerSanta?

Sometimes I just don't know what to do with myself. So I start to play. I had a Gingerbread Man sitting on my desk, and after seeing other demonstrators turn their little guys into "others", I decided I needed a Santa.

And then he sat on my desk for another week.

This afternoon I used an old embossing folder and gave him a home at the North Pole. It's snowing there, but he's warm and happy!

I used a piece of 12" x 12" Two-Tone Cardstock in Pool Party, cut to 6" x 12" and scored at 6". The embossing folder is retired and I don't remember the name of it 😞, but after embossing I cut the mountains from the rest of the piece. The Light and Wonder dies has a great die that could be used to make a mountain if you wanted to duplicate this card.

For the Santa, I cut a second "man" in Real Red and one more in Basic Black. Then I just cut the "suit" and added in the mittens and boots. The "fur" is a piece of the hat from the Gingerbread Man dies; I just cut it several times in Basic White and pieced the pieces together to make the fur.

OK, time to get serious again...but I did have fun creating this little guy!
