Pretty Florals Fun Fold Card

Today I have a fun-fold card, one that includes 24 pieces!  Yes, I dreamed this up for my card classes last week (and for my Cards-by-Mail) and then had to kick myself for creating a card with SO many pieces!

This is a photo I took as I was prepping my kits and was about half-way done with the die-cutting:

Each little pile consisted of 15 pieces; then I added in the card base, three pieces of designer paper, and a larger flower with leaves.  Whew!

And here is the finished project:

This is a pop-up card - the diamond in the center pops up when the card is opened:

It's really not difficult to create, but I got the idea from Tami White, and I'm including the link to the tutorial here.  She does a great job explaining how to put the card together.

Our cards used the beautiful Woven Textures Designer Paper.  There were three different patterns used for the 26 cards I had to make, so here is another one with a different background paper:

For this one, we stamped the flowers from Pretty Florals and cut them with the coordinating dies.  (As a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, I am not allowed to send stamped images to my Cards-by-Mail folks, so they got the die cut flowers in the first photo).

This is a very fun card to make and not hard at all!  I hope you'll give it a try!

Bridge Card

The ladies who attended my card class last weekend got to make a "bridge card".  Take a look:

To be honest, I got mad at myself for including it in my class, as there were tons of pieces that I prepped beforehand.  ðŸ˜©   But seeing everyone's finished product made the effort SO worth it!

Gorgeous Grape was cut to 8" x 4-1/4" for the card base, and scored at 1-1/4" and 2-1/2" from each end.  Then there were eight Highland Heather panels to add to the edges (of both sides); these were embossed with the Exposed Brick embossing folder.

The bridge was made using Gorgeous Grape, 5-1/2" x 1-1/4", Basic Black, 5-1/4" x 1", and Basic White, 5" x 3/4".  And then we added flowers cut with the Impressions Abloom dies (coming May 4th).

The neat thing about this card is that it folds flat for mailing, and can fit in a standard envelope!

And to make it easy to write a note or sign your name, the back panel is also "finished".

It's always fun to try a new fun-fold!

New In Colors? Yes, Please!

I've just returned home from a 4-day trip to North Carolina, where I was fortunate to attend Stampin' UP!'s annual OnStage convention.  This fun event lets me meet up with about 2500 stampers from around the world (although most come from the US and Canada, as there are simultaneous OnStage events in Europe and the South Pacific).  And I had a blast!

One of the highlights is always getting to see the upcoming new catalog prior to its release.  And this OnStage was no exception.  I can't wait to show you products that are coming.

We also get to see the new In Colors!  Every year Stampin' UP! introduces 5 new colors that will be available for two years, and then they retire.  So this year we got to see these fabulous colors:  Strawberry Slush (actually a returning favorite from several years ago), Timid Tiger, Cloud Cover, Secret Sea and Darling Duckling.

Want to see a sneak peek?  Look:

This card shows off all but one of the new In Colors.  I'm also previewing a new die set, Impressions Abloom.  AND some new embellishments - 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls.

I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and cut an oval in the front (there are two oval dies in the set).  I also cut this tiny white stitched border (true confessions - I didn't realize one of the dies cuts both the inside and outside of the oval, leaving this tiny border).

I then backed the opening with the new Cloud Cover cardstock.  This is such a pretty light blue-gray!

And then I cut the flowers.  These dies are sensational!  They not only cut the flower image, but also (with an insert inside the die) emboss it with the lines you see here.  I cut flowers using Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling.  And the leaves are Granny Apple Green

I stamped the greeting (from Simply Said) in Night of Navy because I don't yet have Secret Sea ink (coming this week!).  And added some of the flat pearls.  I love the look!

So what do you think, after seeing a peek at these new colors?  Which will be your favorite?  More samples coming soon...stay tuned!

I'm Still Here

I'm still here, after traveling for a week and then having a visit from the grands.  When they left I realized I only had 4 days to come up with cards for my weekend card clubs.  Yikes!

And now I can finally share one of the cards we made:

I love including fun-fold cards in my classes, and we haven't done a Z-fold in a long time.  So I designed one to use some new products, and it was a hit!

The card base is Misty Moonlight, which coordinates so nicely with the Country Woods Designer Series Paper.  We added two smaller pieces to the front and inside of the card (the base is cut to 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"; fold the card in half, and then fold the top backwards over the front, creating a "Z").

Here's what happens when opened:

We stamped, and die-cut some of the elements from the Seaside Wishes bundle, and we "dirtied up" a few of the embossed sand dollars.  These were cut from Basic Beige cardstock, then sponged with Crumb Cake ink - they look so real!

I love the way this card stands up!  Such a great fun-fold, don't you think?
