Pretty Florals

Do you ever participate in stamping challenges?  I have done these in the past, but haven't in a long time.  So when I saw Australian demonstrator Alisa Tilsner post a daily challenge for the month of July, I thought I would play along.

Today is Day 1, and the goal is to create a card without a sentiment.  That shouldn't be too difficult!  Here's mine:

I pulled out my Pretty Florals stamps and dies and the Florals in Bloom designer paper and got to work.  My card base is Lemon Lolly with a skinny layer of Poppy Parade.  I took a 4-3/4" x 3-7/8" piece of the patterned paper and cut it into three strips, adhering them to a piece of Peach Pie cardstock.

Next I stamped the Pretty Florals images on Basic White with Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock ink.  I cut the panel with the Textured Notes dies and mounted it on Poppy Parade.  This was popped up on Dimensionals on the front of my card.

I had no Poppy Parade jewels, so I made my own!  How?  I took some Polished Dots and colored them with a dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend.  Easy!

And inside:

I didn't stamp a greeting, but I did stamp and cut out one more flower from the set.  I'll add a sentiment later - this card would be good for a birthday, thinking of you, congratulations or even a happy anniversary!

Now it's your turn - stamp a card without a sentiment.  Let's see what you come up with!

Pretty Florals Fun Fold Card

Today I have a fun-fold card, one that includes 24 pieces!  Yes, I dreamed this up for my card classes last week (and for my Cards-by-Mail) and then had to kick myself for creating a card with SO many pieces!

This is a photo I took as I was prepping my kits and was about half-way done with the die-cutting:

Each little pile consisted of 15 pieces; then I added in the card base, three pieces of designer paper, and a larger flower with leaves.  Whew!

And here is the finished project:

This is a pop-up card - the diamond in the center pops up when the card is opened:

It's really not difficult to create, but I got the idea from Tami White, and I'm including the link to the tutorial here.  She does a great job explaining how to put the card together.

Our cards used the beautiful Woven Textures Designer Paper.  There were three different patterns used for the 26 cards I had to make, so here is another one with a different background paper:

For this one, we stamped the flowers from Pretty Florals and cut them with the coordinating dies.  (As a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, I am not allowed to send stamped images to my Cards-by-Mail folks, so they got the die cut flowers in the first photo).

This is a very fun card to make and not hard at all!  I hope you'll give it a try!

Pretty Florals and Blooming Phrases

Sometimes all that is needed is a few words and some pretty flowers.  And that's just what I used to make this card:

Oh, and some gorgeous paper!  In fact, the Designer Series Paper is what inspired me.  The new Woven Textures paper is spectacular!  It's photographic quality and has a number of beautiful, subtle patterns.  And you get three each of the double-sided, 12" x 12" paper so you'll have plenty to play with.

I also had the (almost) square of Basic White stamped with "happy birthday" sitting on my desk.  I had stamped this several weeks ago, playing with a new stamp set, Blooming Phrases.  Each word in the set has a long "tail", and you can make an eye-catching card by stamping the words around a piece of paper like I did here.

Then there's the flowers.  No stamping here; just die-cuts using the Pretty Florals dies.  LOVE!

A pretty (simple) card that is elegant and beautiful.  Just the kind I like!

Pretty Florals and Blooming Phrases, along with the Woven Textures DSP, will be available for purchase on May 6th.  Coming up soon!
