Merry Monday

Thought it might be time to think about the upcoming holidays...

I know what you're thinking - REALLY?

Well, with the upcoming release of the August - December 2020 Mini Catalog, I was able to preorder some of the new products that will be making their debut starting August 3rd.  And one of the first things I ordered and decided to play with is the Red and Green Foil Sheets.  Look:

I also got the Stitched Triangles dies, and once I got the paper, I couldn't resist putting them together.

This card uses another new product:  the Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" Cardstock.  In fact, this was used as the base for my triangles.

I cut 10 each of the red and green foil stitched triangles, and then adhered them to the Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock.  A word of caution - I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (I wanted to be able to move the triangles slightly if needed) and it took FOREVER to dry.  While I was placing more triangles, the ones I had already adhered kept sliding.  ðŸ˜    So if you decide to give this a try, you might want to use Glue Dots or Stampin' SEAL.

But I digress...

Once my triangles were all happily in their places, I ran the whole piece through my die cutting machine with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.  And since I had an extra green "tree", I embossed that too.

The entire piece was added to my Thick Whisper White card base, and I stamped my sentiment (from Gift Wrapped) on a Stitched Shapes oval.

Now you can see how shiny this foil is!  Gorgeous!  And my Holiday Rhinestones were the perfect finishing touch!

New Mini Catalogs are on their way to you if you have placed an order with me in the last 6 months. I'm sure you'll find many new, fun items to help create your holiday cards - why not get a head start and begin working on them now?

A Delicata Reindeer

I can't say I cried when I heard that the Delicata inks are no longer available, but I can say I was very disappointed.  I had only just started to enjoy using them, when - WHAM - gone!  ðŸ˜’

However, I still have them, and had planned a card for my last Card Club, and so I'm going to show it to you today.  (I am running about 10 days behind schedule due to a wonderful weekend of stamping when many of my team members gathered for OnStage in Portland.  My prep work was nearly overwhelming, but that's another story!)

Take a look:

So many beautiful products on this card!  I'll start with the reindeer.  It's from Dashing Deer, and was stamped in Copper Delicata Ink:

Can you see the shine?  So pretty!

The reindeer was cut with the Detailed Deer dies.

This card came about because I love the copper effects of the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper.  The sheet I selected is covered in copper holly and leaves.  So I mounted my deer on top of an Heirloom Frame for the focal image over the beautiful DSP.

And check out that greeting:

I'm still loving the Ornate Frames (being carried over in the next Mini Catalog, happily!); the greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink and cut with the dies.  Just a few Holiday Rhinestones finishes it off.

Dashing Deer and Brightly Gleaming - what a stunning combo!

Are you Ready for Christmas? A Sneak Peek!

I'm not ready for Christmas.  I love the fall holidays, and hate to rush right into the Christmas season. That said, I purchased a few of the upcoming Holiday Catalog stamp sets in order to get a head start on my holiday cards for my stamp classes.  So here's the first I've been playing with:

Tidings All Around, along with the coordinating All-Around Wreath Dies, will make it easy to celebrate the season.  Oh, and don't forget the beautiful Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper!  Just look at this gorgeous combo!

My card base is Garden Green.  The Toil Tidings DSP has lovely patterns with Garden Green on one side of all the papers and Real Red on the other.  So making a card with coordinated patterns is easy!

This is a fun-fold card, a change-up of the Joy Fold Card.  For my front I used two patterns of the DSP, and cut two of the wreath images from the dies (no stamp used for the wreath).  I layered the two wreaths on a small ring of Very Vanilla (just to help it stand out a little against the DSP), and added a stamped banner and some Red Rhinestones.

Open the card and see two of the patterns of paper, then...

open the next layer and see another small card with more patterns of paper.  So pretty!

And finally...

Open it all the way and see the message inside.

I don't know which I like best - the gorgeous papers or the beautiful wreath!  What's your favorite?

Tidings All Around and Toile Tidings DSP will be available for purchase September 4.

Fun Fold Christmas

I like to present a different type of fold for my Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack attendees, so this was that card this year:

It's a very easy Gate-Fold card, but it packs a punch.  Starting with a piece of Cherry Cobbler, cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", we scored it twice, at 2-1/8" from either long end.  This creates the "gate fold", where the sides fold in to meet in the middle.

Each front panel was covered with a plaid of Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla was adhered to the inside of the card.  Then we made the belly band.

A strip of 1-1/4" x 10" cardstock was covered with a 1" wide coordinating piece of DSP from the same package, and a knot of the Braided Linen Trim adds a little rustic beauty.

The stamp used is from Labels to Love, stamped twice (the second time in Cherry Cobbler, and the strip was snipped by hand) and punched with the coordinating Everyday Label Punch.

A few glimmer leaves and sprigs is all it needs to be ready for the holidays!
