Two-Tone Cardstock

Did you know that Stampin' UP! is bringing out two-tone cardstock in all colors?  Yes!  Starting with the new 2025-2026 Annual Catalog, this 12" x 12" cardstock will be available in 50 colors!  Wowsa!

Two-tone cardstock is exactly what it sounds like - one side is the true Stampin' UP! color (like Real Red) and when you flip it over, it's a lighter shade.  There is a white core, so if the cardstock is ripped, you will see white along the edges.  It can also be sanded to let the white show through the color.  Neat!

So to introduce this to my customers, we used it in class this past weekend.

Take a look at the card on the right; it's one I made while attending Stampin' UP!'s OnStage convention last week:

I decided to step it up a bit for my class attendees.  Instead of a Granny Apple Green card base, we used a piece of Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock, cut to 5-1/2" x 7-3/4" and scored at 4-1/4".  This left a 3/4" strip on the right side, where you can see the lighter tone of black.

The flowers from Impressions Abloom (a new stamp set coming in the OnLine Exclusives in May) were stamped in new In Colors, Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling, with Secret Sea centers.  We also added some Granny Apple Green leaves.

But here you can see the lighter shade of black on the right side of the card.  It's a great way to add a little extra interest to your creations!

Basic Black Two-tone cardstock is available now; the other colors will be available starting May 4th.  The hardest part will be deciding which colors to get first!

Sneak Peek at the New In Colors

Yes, I have a sneak peek at all the new In Colors today.  This past weekend I held my monthly card club and we created a card that shows them all off, along with a new stamp set, Layered Thoughts.

When I was at the Stampin' UP! OnStage convention last week, one of the demonstrations included a card like this.  It's a "stack & shuffle" card.  Have you heard of it?

Start by taking 4 sheets of paper, either designer series paper or cardstock (in this case I took one of each of the new In Colors, Strawberry Slush, Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger and Cloud Cover, except for Secret Sea).  Cut the four sheets into a piece that is 3-3/4" x 5".  Stack them (I cut two at a time) and first make a vertical cut from top to bottom at 2-1/2".  Take the piece on the left and cut it at 2-3/4".  Take the other side and cut it at 3"; now you have 4 pieces.  See diagram below:

Once you have all 4 colors cut this way, you will take one of each color/size and you'll be able to make 4 cards.

I layered all my pieces on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Secret Sea, and then added this to a Thick Basic White card base.

We took a 2" wide piece of Basic White to stamp a greeting from Layered Thoughts in Secret Sea, and angled it across the front of our card.

And we finished it off with some of the new In Color Flat Pearls.

Depending on the colors/DSP you choose, this can be a fabulous masculine card.  And with tons of colors and patterned papers, the possibilities are endless!  Give it a try!

The new In Color collection of inks, cardstock, markers, Blends, ribbons and Flat Pearls will be available with the new 2025-26 Annual Catalog, starting May 4th.

Can't wait?  Why not join my team and take part in a pre-order beginning March 25?  For just $99, you can choose $125 in products AND get FREE shipping!  Click here for more information.

Notes & Totes

My preorder arrived yesterday and if you know me you know what I opened first.  I just love me some beachy stuff!

OMG!  What's not to love about a Beans tote bag hanging on a fence at the beach?  With all the accessories!

Notes & Totes is a new stamp and die combo that will be available in the upcoming 2025-26 Annual Catalog.  The stamps are going to be a nice addition but the dies are to "die" for!  So much fun!

I started by stamping the sun and then using Blending Brushes to add some "sky" and "sea".  The "sand" is torn Crumb Cake cardstock, stamped with the "sand" from the stamp set.

The fence is a die that cuts and embosses the paper to look like wood, although I used a piece of the Country Woods DSP.

And then the bag!  Basic Beige with Blueberry Bushel trim.  A Melon Mambo "purse scarf", sunglasses and a water bottle--everything you need for a day at the beach!

And look!  You can also make a 3D bag:

Cutting two of the purse pieces and adhering them together makes an adorable treat holder, large enough for a Ghirardelli chocolate!

I am SO in love!

Notes and Totes will be available May 5th.  Be sure to add it to your Wish List!

Sample from OnStage

When I attended Stampin' UP!'s OnStage convention last week I received a new stamp set and was able to create with it using some of the new In Colors.

The Impressions Abloom bundle will be available through the OnLine Exclusives in early May.  And it is such a versatile and fun set.  With flowers in different sizes it will be fun to create lovely floral cards.

The sample I was SUPPOSED to make called for a Timid Tiger card base with white panels on top.  But with such a small area of Timid Tiger showing, I opted to cheat and make the white my card base, cutting strips of Timid Tiger to lay over the top.  After all, I only received 4 sheets of Timid Tiger - why would I waste a full half sheet on a card with only two little strips showing?  ðŸ˜‰

I got to use some new In Colors - Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling, along with Granny Apple Green (which I stamped off first to create lighter-colored leaves and flower stems).  And the greetings were stamped with Secret Sea, a beautiful new color that is a deep blue/black, almost charcoal- like.  It may be my favorite new color!

My box of pre-ordered goodies arrives today, and I can't wait to start playing with more of these colors!

Impressions Abloom will be released in early May, at the same time as the new Annual Catalog kicks off.  If you are a regular customer of mine, you will be receiving a new Annual Catalog in the mail around mid-April.  If you would like to order one, please contact me and I can tell you how to get one for FREE!

New In Colors? Yes, Please!

I've just returned home from a 4-day trip to North Carolina, where I was fortunate to attend Stampin' UP!'s annual OnStage convention.  This fun event lets me meet up with about 2500 stampers from around the world (although most come from the US and Canada, as there are simultaneous OnStage events in Europe and the South Pacific).  And I had a blast!

One of the highlights is always getting to see the upcoming new catalog prior to its release.  And this OnStage was no exception.  I can't wait to show you products that are coming.

We also get to see the new In Colors!  Every year Stampin' UP! introduces 5 new colors that will be available for two years, and then they retire.  So this year we got to see these fabulous colors:  Strawberry Slush (actually a returning favorite from several years ago), Timid Tiger, Cloud Cover, Secret Sea and Darling Duckling.

Want to see a sneak peek?  Look:

This card shows off all but one of the new In Colors.  I'm also previewing a new die set, Impressions Abloom.  AND some new embellishments - 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls.

I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and cut an oval in the front (there are two oval dies in the set).  I also cut this tiny white stitched border (true confessions - I didn't realize one of the dies cuts both the inside and outside of the oval, leaving this tiny border).

I then backed the opening with the new Cloud Cover cardstock.  This is such a pretty light blue-gray!

And then I cut the flowers.  These dies are sensational!  They not only cut the flower image, but also (with an insert inside the die) emboss it with the lines you see here.  I cut flowers using Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling.  And the leaves are Granny Apple Green

I stamped the greeting (from Simply Said) in Night of Navy because I don't yet have Secret Sea ink (coming this week!).  And added some of the flat pearls.  I love the look!

So what do you think, after seeing a peek at these new colors?  Which will be your favorite?  More samples coming soon...stay tuned!

A Wilderness Card

My little grand-nephew is turning one!  Hard to believe that Miles is already reaching that special birthday, but here it is.

And he's having a "wilderness" party - featuring lions and tigers and bears, oh my!  His little friends have been invited to a near-by park, and they will play on the playground, try to bash a piñata (I'm certain that Miles' two older brothers will be doing the dirty work) and eat cupcakes.

So I pulled out some oldie but goody stamps to create my version of a "wilderness" card:

These critters aren't at all scary, and I think they are adorable!

Fluffiest Friends has a collection of furry friends, and I chose the bear, the chipmunk (?) and the bunny to join the little bluebird in a tree.

After stamping, coloring and die-cutting them out, I played with layouts until I liked what I had.  I started with a piece of Early Espresso and embossed it with the Timber embossing folder.  Then I cut a few holes (the "hive" shape for the bear and a circle for the bunny) and layered the piece over some Pecan Pie.

I used the coordinating Fluffiest Friends dies to create the tree branch for the bird, the bee hive, the grass and the leaves, and then put it all together.

And note the Tiny Bee Trinkets buzzing around the beehive!  Too cute!

And inside:

Ready for a celebration!  Birthday Celebration dies are perfect, along with the Mini Alphabet dies.

Happy Birthday, Miles!  I hope you have a "wild" birthday!
