Pretty Wrap

Have you ever thought about using your patterned paper to wrap a gift?  I recently had one for a customer and did this:

I had gifted a wonderful customer a set of dies.  The gorgeous Hues of Happiness 12" x 12" paper was a perfect fit!

It was so nice to work with too, holding a crease at the edges and folding really nicely.

Once wrapped, I used some of the Starry Sky 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon to tie it up.

I cut two Tailor Made Tags in Basic White, tying them to the package with the ribbon.  Then I used the Blossoming Happiness dies to cut two of the flowers and the leaves directly from the designer paper - I love that many of the dies can be used on the DSP!

This came out so pretty I almost hated to give it away!  😁  But I did...

Next time you have a small gift to give, why not try some designer paper to wrap it up?

Boughs of Holly for Merry Monday

It's another Merry Monday, and today's holiday card features the absolutely gorgeous Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper:

And while I'm loving the pretty paper, I am also loving the card template!  Three strips of patterned paper makes this card a winner, and it would look entirely different with different Designer paper, different colors and different embellishments.  Keep it as a template to be used over and over!

The Boughs of Holly paper strips were cut to 1-3/8" x 3-1/2".  I used two of the same pattern and one that coordinates.  They were mounted to a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock cut to 3-3/4" x 4-3/4", which was then adhered to the Cherry Cobbler card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored in half).

That ribbon is a new favorite!  The Natural Woven Ribbon is so soft!  And just the right addition to finish off your card.

You can bet I'll be using this template again and again for a quick and striking card!  How about you?

Attractive Opposites

The Splendid Day foiled paper is SO beautiful!  I used little squares of it on a card for my September card clubs in two colors:

These are pretty easy cards, but pack a huge punch with the foiled papers, pretty colors, die cuts, embossing and jewels.  Let's take a closer look.

Soft Sea Foam and white - how can you improve on that combo?  Here a piece of Basic White cardstock is embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder, and then three small squares of the Splendid Day paper is added to Soft Sea Foam squares.  The leaf die-cut is from Forever Flourishing, and is placed behind a heat-embossed greeting.

And then:

The same card in reverse, using the foil in Fresh Freesia.  This time the die-cut leaf pattern is from the Artistic dies.

Go To Greetings is a perfect set for so many occasions.  Heat-embossing on the Stitched Rectangle looks so pretty!

This is one of those card layouts that works for almost anything.  Take a few squares of patterned paper, add a few embellishments and a greeting, and you are ready for whatever occasion is coming up.

And check out the Splendid Day Designer Series paper - you will be so glad you did!
