Tranquil Tulips for February

One of the cards created at my monthly Crafty Ladies Card Club uses Tranquil Tulips.  As so often happens when a new catalog comes out, I forget (neglect?) sets that I purchased through the Annual Catalog.  So I decided to show this set a little love.

I needed something quick and easy, and one of the attendees had requested some sympathy or thinking of you cards.  I thought this would be perfect!

The base is Whisper White.  We cut an oval, using the Layering Ovals Framelits, in our Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (the green piece).  Laying our DSP on our card front, we lightly traced the oval with a pencil.  Then we set the DSP aside.

The tulip was stamped with Daffodil Delight, Emerald Envy and Tuxedo Black inks.  And the sentiment was stamped on the green piece using a stamp from Heartfelt Blooms, a Sale-a-Bration FREE offering.

The Daffodil Delight trim (cut with a retired die) was adhered to the back of the DSP before we glued it to the card base.

Simple, but totally lovely.  Don't forget those gorgeous Annual Catalog stamps!

More Leftovers

Yesterday I shared what can happen when I have leftover packets from a Card Club.  Today I have another card that we made, along with what I did with the "leftovers".

This was the card we all created at our Card Club.  This uses the beautiful hostess set, Tranquil Tulips, which we stamped in Real Red and Old Olive.  The card base is Real Red, with a layer of Basic Black.  Then the front is Whisper White.  There is also a 1" piece of Vellum cardstock, on which we stamped the sentiment from Butterfly Basics.

So on to my craft room and what else I did with the pieces:

Notice anything different?  It's pretty much the same card, but I needed an anniversary card, so I just changed the sentiment.  I also stamped the leaves differently, and I added a Black Rhinestone on the front.

But then...

I decided to go a little Christmas-y.  Same measurements, but I exchanged the Basic Black layer for Garden Green.

This is a super-simple card, one which you could recreate lots of in a short period of time.  It uses stamps from the new Christmas Quilt set, and the only thing that is dimensional is the little star, which I cut out with the Quilt Builder Framelit dies.  I adore that little tree!

For my last card I went rogue.  I saw a sample by Connie Stewart, and loved what she did, but I wanted a Christmas card, so I changed up the colors:

How fun is that?  This has the same Real Red card base, but it's covered with a piece of Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper.  And I changed out the Basic Black again for a layer of Emerald Envy.  But the basic layout is the same as the original.

I punched leaves using the Leaf Punch and Real Red, Emerald Envy, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist.  The red scallops were cut with the die from Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies.  And it's all wrapped up with luscious Emerald Envy Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

So what do you think?  Good use of my leftovers?  I think so!

Tulip Anniversary

It's time for a Tulip Anniversary...or a tulip anniversary card, anyway.  Today is my sister and brother-in-law's wedding anniversary.  And at our Card Club last week, Tani brought this beautiful card.  I thought it was perfect for my sisty:

Tranquil Tulips is a gorgeous stamp set, featuring tulips with a watercolored look.  And the lovely results are so easy to obtain; this is a two-step stamp, but you only need one color of ink (for the flowers; you'll need something else for the stems/leaves).  When you stamp one on top of the other, the image is sheer perfection!

See?  Gorgeous!

We started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, and stamped our stems, leaves and flowers.  Then using both the Stitched Shapes square (the largest one) and one of the Layering  Squares framelits (one that fits inside the Stitched Shapes die) we cut out the squares, resulting in a frame and a center square.

We then nestled the "frame" back in the hole that was created (no glue yet).  The center square was adhered flat and we then popped up the frame with Foam Adhesive Strips.  Such a striking feature!

Our card base was Whisper White Thick cardstock, and there's a layer of Berry Burst.  My sentiment, from Beautiful Bouquet was stamped in Berry Burst and cut with one of the Stitched Shapes ovals, then mounted on two off-set Berry Burst ovals.

Isn't that a pretty card?  Perfect for an anniversary!

Tranquil Tulips is a Host set, available only to hosts or those whose sales reach $150.  Why not hold a catalog party and earn your set?  Contact me for details on easy ways to gather orders, and get your Tranquil Tulips today!
