Paper Pumpkin Meets Birthday Bouquet

Did you know that every Paper Pumpkin kit comes with an exclusive stamp set?  While they are meant to be used for the enclosed contents of the kit, they are also great for using after your kit is complete.

December's Paper Pumpkin was a beautiful desk calendar (mine is done and on my desk at work, but you can see what it looks like here).

Here's an idea for a birthday card using the Paper Pumpkin stamp:

I have a niece with a January birthday.  I mounted all the stamps (January - December) on one clear block until I got the size that I wanted.  I then removed January, inked up the others with Mint Macaroon and stamped on Whisper White.  I then stamped January with Watermelon Wonder.  Because the stamps are clear photopolymer, it's easy to see right where you want it.

The card base is Whisper White Thick Cardstock.  The beautiful, subtle balloon paper is from Birthday Bouquet (available Tuesday!); both the balloon paper and the paper with the months are mounted on thin layers of Mint Macaroon.

The numbers were cut from a very old die that I have lying around (got it to use with an old machine, prior to getting my hands on the Big Shot), but these could be stamped using either the Alphabet Rotary Stamp or the Back To Basics Alphabet.

The "Your Special Day" sentiment is a pared down version from Botanicals for You, a Sale-a-bration offering (also starting Tuesday) and can be yours for FREE with a $50 purchase.  The actual phrase is "...on your special day", but I omitted the "...on".

I also added a piece of the balloon print on the envelope flap:
So how do you use your Paper Pumpkin stamps?  What?  You're not a member?  Well fix that right now by clicking on the Paper Pumpkin link on the right.  Just $19.95 a month gets you a wonderful orange box loaded with everything you need for some crafting heaven, and it's delivered right to your door!

All supplies can be purchased here.  Now go make something pretty!

To show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Paper Pumpkin is going PINK!  At least the boxes are!  The October boxes will be a special pretty pink and Stampin' Up! will also be making donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

They will donate:
  • $1 for every active Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
  • Plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber.
Here's how can you help:
  1. Subscribe!  If you're new to Paper Pumpkin, click here to get started.  Your first kit will arrive in a limited-edition pink box that you'll want to keep.  Stampin' Up! will donate $2 because you're new!  New subscribers are those who signed up between September 11 and October 10, 2015 and have not been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber at any time in the past.
  2. If you are already a subscriber, make sure you stay active and have your October kit sent to you.  Stampin' Up! will donate $1 for you as long as your receive your shipment.  Funds will be donated based on the number of subscribers instead of the number of boxes shipped.  But, if you want more than one pink box, you can always increase your subscription quantity by logging into your account at PaperPumpkin.com before October 10.
Stampin' Up! says the October project inside the pink box is just as awesome as always, but says they are letting us know that it is not a pink project.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) advances the world's most promising research to eradicate breast cancer.  Founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993, BCRF has raised more than $550 million to fuel discoveries in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, survivorship, and metastasis, making it one of the largest non-governmental funders of breast cancer research in the world.  This year BCRF has invested $58.6 million in research, to support over 235 researchers at leading medical institutions across six continents, including $11.6 million to the international Evelyn H. Lauder Founder's Fund focused on metastasis.  By spending 91 cents of every dollar on research and public awareness programs, BCRF remains one of the nation's most fiscally responsible nonprofits.  BCRF is the only breast cancer organization with an "A+" from CharityWatch, and has been awarded Charity Navigator's highest rating of four stars 13 times since 2002.  For more information, please visit: www.bcrfcure.org.

Baby Shower Meets Paper Pumpkin

I must confess...I love my Paper Pumpkin.  But sometimes life gets in the way of "me time" and I don't get to open my pretty little orange box.  That's what happened two months ago when the Birthday Bash Paper Pumpkin arrived.  I was busy visiting my folks, working and getting ready for Convention, so I put my pretty orange box on a shelf, and there it sat.

Until yesterday...

I have a baby shower to go to today.  For some reason I pulled out my "Birthday" Bash and took a look at what was in there.  It's SO cute!  But it's really geared to birthdays--stamps that say Happy Birthday, cards with bright stripes and gift bags with balloon cut outs on the front.  What to do...

How's this?

This is the gift bag that came with the Paper Pumpkin:
It's an adorable Bermuda Bay and white polka dotted bag, with a fold-over flap.  The panel on the front is covering the balloon cut outs.  I had such fun creating it:  Whisper White with rounded corners, a piece of retired Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper, a strip of Bermuda Bay DSP, and then some fun with the Something for Baby and Baby's First Framelits.

The onesie is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut
with the Framelits; the little tie is part of the set.

For the sentiment, I stamped "it's a boy" over and
over, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, and stamping off to get an ombre look.

Finally a tag:
And here is what's inside:
I used the fabulous Envelope Paper (Neutrals) to create the custom envelope, and added a matching piece of DSP for the flap.  The stacking toy is also from Something for Baby, and is so easy to cut with the framelit.

Carrying the same theme to the card, I used a Paper Pumpkin card base, but jazzed it up with DSP and another onesie.

Now for the funny story that made the last piece of this gift package happen.  I went to find a small gift to include in the bag with the gift card.  I went to the local Target, with the mom-to-be is registered and got a copy of her wish list.  I searched for a few small items, and settled on two, figuring one would fit in the bag.

WRONG!

So now I had to figure out how to wrap them in coordinating colors and theme.  Well, how's this?

I happened to have some white gift bags that I had gotten a long time ago for a gift-bag swap.  And I had gotten the wrong size.  So they've been sitting in my craft castle for ages.  I had one piece left of Bermuda Bay DSP in a 12"x12" size (retired pack) so carefully measured and cut, and Tear & Taped it to the front.  Then I got busy creating  the stacking toy out of cardstock, with each layer embossed with a different folder.  So fun!

So what do you think of my re-purposed birthday bash Paper Pumpkin?

Are you a Paper Pumpkin subscriber?  No?????  Why not?  Look at all the things you can do!  And if you sign up now, you can get HALF OFF your first two months (new subscribers only).
