Paper Horizons

I still can't get enough of the New Horizons paper and the Horizons dies.  Somehow these products almost create cards for me!

I saw a really pretty (and very simple) card on the Stampin' UP! demonstrator Facebook page by Jessie Holton.  She cut pieces of cardstock with the Horizons dies to create a pretty scene.  I was quite smitten and wanted to try it.  But I decided to use the New Horizons patterned paper instead of cardstock, in order to give the die cuts a more realistic feel.  So:

Now I can't stop looking at this card!  It makes me feel peaceful (and we all need a little of that right now).

I used 4 pieces of the New Horizons paper to cut the mountains, hills, trees and water, as well as the grass in front of the fence.  I used a wood-grain paper for the fence.

Before adding the die cuts to the card, I first stamped the greeting and then ran the layer through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with the Tasteful Textures embossing folder.  This made the paper look like a canvas.

Then I just added each element with some Liquid Glue, finishing with a few of the Pebbles Enamel Shapes.

I can almost picture myself sitting next to that lake in the mountains, can't you?

More New Horizons

Last week I shared  a card using the New Horizons patterned paper along with the Horizon dies (here).

I'm totally enthralled with this paper, so here's another:

If you need a quick and easy card, reach for this gorgeous paper!  It was hand painted by a Stampin' UP! artist, and sets a lovely background for your crafting.

So easy!  All I did was stamp images from Sailing Home, colored them and cut them with the Smooth Sailing dies, and add them to the paper.  I also cut a "beach" for the lighthouse using another piece of the New Horizons paper and one of the Horizons dies.  Then I stamped the greeting (Friends are Like Seashells in Blackberry Bliss ink) directly on the paper.

I love the peaceful simplicity of this card, and I love that the paper makes it so easy to create!  Pick up some New Horizons Designer Series Paper - you'll be so glad you did!

Sale-a-Bration is in full swing!  The exclusive stamp sets and patterned papers are extra special, and all are FREE with a qualifying order.  But supplies are limited; once they are gone, they are gone for good!  So don't miss out...

New Horizons

Happy New Year!  Is anyone excited and optimistic about 2022?  I'd love to hear about it...I'm setting my expectations rather low, as I had hoped 2021 would be great (after 2020), but it hasn't quite panned out the way I envisioned.  And right at the end, after being SO careful all year, my grandkids had an exposure to Covid, ruining our New Years Eve plans.  ðŸ˜¢  So now we are hoping no one gets sick - an unfortunate beginning to a new year.

So let's look at something positive, shall we?  The brand new January - June 2022 Mini Catalog is just about to go live (on Tuesday, January 4th), and I have a brand new suite of products to show you.  Take a look:

The New Horizons suite includes the On the Horizon stamp set (not shown in this sample), the Horizon Dies, New Horizons patterned paper and the Pebbles Enamel Shapes, along with some Cotton Ribbon in a combo pack.  For this card, I chose to focus on the gorgeous paper and the fabulous dies.

The 6" x 6" paper contains a variety of watercolor-looking landscapes, everything from beaches, to lakes, to fields, to mountains.  Use your imagination and you can make almost any scene with it.  Here I chose a simple muted pallet of  grays and greens, with a little peach and purple.  And I decided it looked like a lake on a winter's day.

Do you see those mountains?  The dies are in two pieces - a base and the snow-caps.  And the fence?  Oh my, that is what captured my heart when I first saw this set!  LOVE!  And check out those little pebbles - aren't they the cutest?  SWOON!

There is another stamp set, Oceanfront, in the new catalog, and I used it to create a little grass around my fence.  These two sets can work beautifully together, but also create scenic cards on their own.  Be sure to check out both Oceanfront and On the Horizon!  But don't forget the dies!

These products will be available Tuesday; I'm so excited to show you more!

Need a catalog?  I love to share my "store" so send me a note and I'll get one out to you.  And then you can begin creating beautiful scenes too!
