Stamparatus Circle Stamping

I finally got a chance to try "circle" stamping with the Stamparatus, and was really thrilled with the outcome.  Look at this:

Look at that gorgeous wreath!

I started with a template that I made from a 6" x 6" square.  I then took the largest Layering Square Framelit and cut one square smack in the middle, and then rotated it 90 degrees and cut again, creating a hexagon shape in the middle.

Then I took another of the same largest square framelits and cut another piece of Whisper White.  I fit it in the template and stamped the Lovely Lipstick flowers from Tropical Chic.  I rotated the piece of paper in the template, using every other corner for the Lovely Lipstick flowers and then did it again with Mango Melody.  I loved the effect!

The sentiment is from Eastern Beauty, and stamped in Garden Green ink.  I fussy cut around the flowers to create the wreath.

This is a pocket card - I cut the Mango Melody base at 5-1/2" x 11" and scored it at 4-1/2" and 9".  This gave me a 2" flap to create the pocket.  Before adhering it closed, I ran it through the Tufted embossing folder.  So pretty!

The inside pull-out is 4-1/2" x 5-1/4".  I put a little tab on the top so it can be easily pulled out.

For the card front, I cut a piece of Garden Green and used the Trio corner punch on the top corner.  Then I made a bellyband from the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.  The leaves were stamped and/or cut with the Tropical Chic sets and the Tropical thinlits.

I'm traveling at the moment but will put together a tutorial for the Stamparatus circle stamping technique when I get home.  It's so easy, and such fun!

Delightfully Detailed

I'm in love with the new Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper.  This is the perfect product for cards, whether you are new to paper crafting or an "old salt".  With two distinct designs the possibilities are nearly endless.  And you get 4 sheets of each.  AND one side is Whisper White, while the reverse side is Very Vanilla.  How wonderful does it get?

Let's take a look at some easy cards:

My first sample is about as easy as it gets.  One of the pieces of Laser Cut paper has 6 "frames" and a number of "borders".  Start by cutting off the border pieces, and then cut each of the frame pieces with 3 easy cuts.  You are left with 6 individual pieces, approximately 3-3/4" x 5", just right for a card layer.

This panel of vines "made" the card.  All I had to do was choose a color for the card base and my card was essentially done.

I took a piece of Mossy Meadow (SO happy to have this color back!), cut it to 4-1/4" x 11", and folded it in half.  I also scored it, using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, at 1/8" on all four sides.

Then I placed the leafy DSP on a Silicone Mat and, using a Stampin' Sponge, lightly dabbed Multipurpose Glue over the back side.  Then I set it in place on my card.

The sentiment, from Rooted in Nature, was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on a strip of Whisper White cardstock and adhered with Dimensionals.

Then, because I had 5 more frames sitting on my desk, I made this:

Again, very easy.  This card was done in Berry Burst.  I cut a piece of cardstock the same size as my frame and ran it through the Big Shot with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  Then, using the Silicone Mat as above, I added the frame, using the Very Vanilla side.  This piece was layered on a piece of Merry Merlot, and then to the Berry Burst base.

"Enjoy today", from Eastern Beauty, was stamped in Berry Burst ink on Very Vanilla paper and punched with a circle punch.  Popping it up with Dimensionals completed my card.

Simple!

Now for those of you who want to step it up a bit, take a look at two cards I posted previously, both using this same Delightfully Detailed DSP:

One more of the "frames"; it highlights the cute vases from Varied Vases.  You can revisit this card here.

And then I used one of the other pieces of DSP - the lace panel:

Such a pretty way to send your best wishes!  More details here.

Give Delightfully Detailed a try; I suspect this paper is flying off the Stampin' UP! shelves, and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!

Such a Happy Card!

After holding my Open House Launch Party last week, I wanted to thank those customers who placed orders for new products.  I thought it would be fun to create a thank you note using the products that they bought (from my own stash - not their new products 😁).

Phyllis ordered Eastern Beauty and the Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies.  I haven't used that set in awhile, so decided to try something with new colors:

I had no idea I would love Mango Melody so much!  This new addition to the Brights Family is smashing!

I cut my cardstock to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and folded it in half.  I stamped the circles from Eastern Beauty randomly over the front of the card, using Mango Melody ink.  Then I added the "thank you" using Bermuda Bay ink - only one is full strength ink; the others are stamped off once.

A strip of Pineapple Punch made a bright focal point, and I added a little trim from the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper.   Such a small detail, but it adds so much!

I stamped and cut three of the medallions - you can use two dies at the same time to cut your image AND to make the little popped out "petals".  I just punched a 3/4" circle for the centers.

Eastern Beauty, Where Have You Been?

As Stampin' Up! is about to start a new year (June 1st), I know that several of the stamps I currently own will be retired.  So I'm trying to show them a little love, even though I don't know which will disappear.  But I pulled out Eastern Beauty, and fell in love all over again.

I was experimenting with a fun fold, and wanted to use some designer series paper.  I know that Eastern Palace will be retired (DSP never carries over from year to year - WITH the exception this year of Wood Textures, which we have been told WILL carry forward).  But I love these colors, and decided to work with the coordinating stamp set, Eastern Beauty.

Oh my!  I love this card!

Let's break it down.

1.  The Fold - I took a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock, cut 4-1/4" x 11" and scored it at 1-7/8" and 7-3/8".  This creates a regular 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card when folded, but there's a different opening:

See?

2.  The colors - Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim, with Very Vanilla.  Luscious!

3.  That medallion!

I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla and cut it out with the coordinating Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  I punched a circle of Dapper Denim with the 1-3/8" circle punch to place behind it.  Then I used Lemon Lime Twist to create another medallion, layering it over a circle cut with the Layering Circles dies in Denim.  Stunning!

4.  The foil - The Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers make a beautiful border:

5.  Accessories - The lovely (and very easy to tie) Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and some In Color Enamel Shapes perfectly finish off this card.

6.  But wait!  There's more!  - The Inside

Perfect corners using two of the small stamps make a nice detail for the inside of this card.

Eastern Beauty and the coordinating Eastern Medallions are offered as a bundle - get them now and save 10%, because, why wouldn't you?

Dapper Denim is one of the retiring In Colors this year.  If this is one of your favs, please stock up now.  Once it's gone, it's gone, and the 2016-18 In Colors (Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum) will disappear quickly once the retirement list comes out next week.  So don't delay!
