Watercolored Background

With the weather finally changing to a fall-feel, I decided to change up some of my colors.  Don't you think autumn deserves Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Old Olive?

Using those colors and a Water Painter, I watercolored a piece of Watercolor Paper.  Once it was dry, I ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine with the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder.

What a lovely background!  Lots of color and lots of texture!

I clustered some leaves and sprigs, die cut with the bundle's dies and added a greeting stamped in Cajun Craze.

A few gold pearls and a double-bow of Linen Thread and the card was done!

Just in time for the weather change!

Pretty Silver Leaves

What happens when you heat-emboss directly on designer series patterned paper?

I took a piece of the Thoughtful Journey DSP and heat-embossed the large leaf from the Changing Leaves stamp set using Silver Wow Embossing Powder...and...WOW!  So shiny!  And such a contract to the Pretty Peacock background!

I also heat-embossed a second leaf cluster from the stamp set, then cut it with the dies to add under my greeting.

A touch of Silver Foil (behind the main panel and for a few die-cut twigs) and this beautiful card all came together.  I just added a few Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio (in Pretty Peacock) and my card was done!

Have you ever tried heat-embossing on patterned paper?

Yellow Roses

Here's a pretty card we made in my August Card Club classes:

The Layers of Beauty bundle includes stamps, dies and masks.  And together, they make you feel like an artist!

My class attendees all made this card, and the "oohs" and "aahs" were uttered all around the table!

We started by stamping the image with Tuxedo Black ink (it's one large image of flowers and leaves).  Then, using the 5 included masks, we started coloring.  We added ink with Blending Brushes in Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry for the flowers, and Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green for the leaves.  Depending on how heavy-handed the person was determined how bright the images turned out.  But they were all beautiful, and everyone was delighted!

Our main panel was mounted on a Granny Apple Green layer, and then added to the Lemon Lime Twist card base.  We finished with a few Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins and a greeting from Everyday Greetings.

And everyone went home feeling like an artist.

Check out Layers of Beauty and feel like an artist too!
