A Panda in the Bamboo

I'm still playing with Party Pandas, a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set that can be yours with a $50 purchase.

Last week I showed you this card:

It's a fun fold that uses the Party Pandas set along with Stampin' Blends to color the balloon.

Once I made that, I kept playing...

And I thought it would be appropriate to place my little guy in a bamboo forest.  Cute huh?

I pulled out my Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack and went to town.  The card base is Old Olive, and there's a skinny Basic Black layer before a layer of an ombre-look Old Olive piece of DSP.  Then I took one of the "paint chip" pieces of DSP and cut it into skinny strips to look like bamboo stalks.  My Leaf Punch (yes!  this is still available as a carry-over from the Holiday Catalog!) made quick work of the leaves.

Don't miss Party Pandas!  This set is flying off the Stampin' UP! shelves and is only available during Sale-a-Bration!

Another Panda Party

I showed a Panda card the other day (here) and this is another one that I had for one of my January Card Clubs.

Look how cute!  And this is actually a type of "fun fold" card:

See how it works?

The card base is Basic Black, regular 4-1/4" x 11" and scored in the middle.  But we cut off 2" from the bottom of the front panel.  After adhering the Designer Series Paper (retired Merry Little Christmas DSP, but it was perfect with the leaves and the "panda colors") we stamped the panel with the panda.  This was mounted to a slightly larger layer of black and then we placed it over the top and bottom of the card front, using adhesive only on the top portion and the bottom to complete the card.

The only color is Bermuda Bay; we used Stampin' Blends in the light and dark colors and then used the Color Lifter to create the "light" on the side of the balloon.

On the inside we added another partying panda, complete with party hat and sparkles!  The sentiment was added through the window that the panels made on the front, and shows through when the card is closed.

I liked it so much that I made them for thank you notes to customers who ordered this month:

Panda-monium!

Time for a little fun with pandas - with the Party Pandas set that is.

This cute birthday card uses the Party Panda set, a FREE Sale-a-Bration offering, along with the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper.  With the Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy colors, this card could be used for boys or girls (of all ages!).

My friend and fellow demonstrator, Tani, put this card together for our January Card Club, and it was a hit!  We inked up the panda in Archival Black ink, then stamped two extra balloons on Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy cardstock and snipped them out.

The layers (from the card base up) are:  Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Pick a Pattern DSP with a band of Emerald Envy, and then Basic Black, Emerald Envy and Whisper White for the panel with the panda.

The Classic Label punch makes the "Happy Birthday" banners easy!  And one balloon is popped up on Dimensionals; we drew in an extra string.  Just adorable!
