Today is a Chocolate Kind of Day

I always include a little treat at my Card Club classes each month.  I scour the aisles of the supermarket, Trader Joes, Target and even Bath & Body Works to find the perfect little "somethin'" for my guests.

And this month I found Mini Chocolate Bars at Trader Joes.  Delicious and affordable, they made me sigh with pleasure.

But I had to decorate them...after all, that's what I do!  So:

They were a hit!

After measuring carefully, I created a little box for them (I only ruined one sheet of paper trying to get it just right! 😅).  I used Early Espresso cardstock, and then wrapped each box in a piece of either Woven Textures or Need for Tweed Designer Series Paper.

Then I pulled out an old-but-goody stamp set and coordinating dies - Nothing's Better Than.  If you have that set, never get rid of it!  You'll never know when it is the perfect set to use for something like this!

I know I say this every month, but this was one of my favorite treats to give!

Woven Textures and Need for Tweed are currently available in the OnLine Exclusives.  They are great papers, perfect for masculine cards, but also for decorating your candy bars!  ðŸ˜‰

Time for a Pity Party

Sigh...what a day...

Two doctor's appointments, one minor surgery, my Stampin' UP! order of new products hasn't shipped yet, some of my favorite stamp sets and colors are retiring, and it's STILL raining!

First world problem, I know...but it was time for a pity party.  And what do I do when I am invited to my own miserable party?  I eat cookies.

So:

Today is a cookies kind of day.  But since I didn't have any I decided to stamp some.

And I used one of my favorite retiring sets, Nothing's Better Than.  I've loved this fun stamp set and coordinating dies, and I'm sad to see it go.  But I've paired it with other retiring products for a final send off.

My cardstock is Pale Papaya (good-bye, I'll miss you 👋).  The top layer was cut with the Split Card Textures dies (NOT retiring - yea!) and then embossed with a new embossing folder, one of the Basics that you can find in the OnLine Exclusive line.

The cookies were stamped on Soft Suede (ba-bye, it's been fun!) and cut with the dies, while the greeting was stamped in Versamark on Soft Suede and embossed with White

"Cookies" was cut with Mango Melody (I'm crying 😭) with a Foam Adhesive Sheet attached to make it pop up.

And inside:

Today just felt like that...

But now I feel better - I love the card AND I know that tomorrow is another day...

Maybe I'll bake some cookies!

The Last Chance Sale is going on now and many products have flown out the Stampin' UP! door.  If there is something on your Wish List, better not wait.  Shop here

Combining Three Favorites!

If anyone were to ask me about my favorite stamp sets, I would have to say that I couldn't just pick one.  Of course I love all the "beachy" sets (By the Bay, Friends are Like Seashells, Oceanfront and Paradise Palms) but right now my favorite set is Sweet Citrus.  BUT I also love Nothing's Better Than.  So how about combining them?

I was playing with an idea for a birthday card for my niece, and I had limes sitting on my desk (not real limes, just these adorable stamped-cut-embossed limes).  And I thought, what do you make with limes?

Drinks, of course!  So I got to work.

This is a Z-fold card, but it's a really easy fun-fold.  Start with a piece of Basic White cut to 4-1/4" x 11".  Score it at 5-1/2" and 2-3/4".  Fold it in half on the 5-1/2" score line and then fold BACK on the 2-3/4" score line, creating a "z":

I decorated it all with Granny Apple Green stripes from the Dandy Designs patterned paper (a FREE Sale-a-Bration offering with a $100 purchase -- you get 48 sheets of 12" x 12" paper!).

The front panel (glue is only on the back left side in order for the card to open) is full of limes from Sweet Citrus and stamped in Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party.  I used a little starburst stamp from Nothing's Better Than stamped all over the panel, along with the greeting from the same set.

Then I went to town decorating the inside:

Paradise Palms supplied the palm trees, the drinks were stamped from Nothing's Better Than, and "Cocktails" is cut with the coordinating dies.  Such fun!

Now I have to go through my sets and see what others I can combine!

What are your favorite sets and how do you combine them?

Sale-a-Bration is about to enter its second and final month!  Have you gotten all the FREE items on your Shopping List?  Remember these products are available until supplies run out, so don't delay!  Order today!
