A Notecard Portfolio

Ever need a quick gift?  Maybe for a host of a dinner party (yeah, remember dinner parties?), or for a birthday for a friend?  I've got a cute idea that you can whip up fairly easily and quickly, and it's sure to make someone smile.

This is a little Note Card Holder:

It's made from one piece of 12" x 12" patterned paper.  This particular one uses one of the FREE papers currently available in the Sale-a-Bration catalog for a $50 purchase.  It's the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper, and it's so pretty!

Here's a photo of the side:

And open:

The folds of the patterned paper creates two pockets to hold your decorated note cards.

Here are the cards:

For the card on the left, I used a Basic White Note Card and Envelope and decorated the front (and envelope flap) with the DSP.  Then I cut a little Stitched So Sweetly label and stamped it with Inspiring Iris.

The second card has  a 1" piece sliced off the front of the card; this allows the back side of the patterned paper to show when added to the inside of the card (it's just a 1" strip of DSP along the right side of the inside of the card).

Two of the Stitched So Sweetly labels were cut and stamped with a stamp from Peaceful Moments.  And I added two Black Matte Dots.  Easy!

I've been working on a class package which will be mailed out this week, and then I can sit down and write up the directions for creating these Note Card Portfolios.  I even re-designed it so it can hold 4 notecards and envelopes - I'll include directions on that too.  So c'mon back later this week to see how you can create one of your own.

And don't forget about Sale-a-Bration!  Time is almost up!

International Highlights Blog Hop

Today I'm participating in Kylie Bertucci's Blog Highlights, where the theme is "thank you".  So let me first thank you for visiting!  I hope you'll visit the other cards featured in the Highlights, and please vote for your favorites (mine included, of course! 😁) by going here to place your vote.

Today is Day 2 of my Week of Misty Moonlight, featuring this beautiful In Color.

Misty Moonlight is one of my favorite colors, and it pairs so well with other blues, reds or pinks.  Today I used the gorgeous Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper for the background, which includes Seaside Spray--these two colors pair beautifully!  (And Seaside Spray is one of the 2019-21 In Colors, which will be retiring in May 😢).

A Stitched So Sweetly Rectangle of Basic White cardstock was stamped with one of the images from Inspiring Iris.  The flower was stamped with Seaside Spray, and over-stamped with Misty Moonlight, for a little depth.  This layer was added to a piece of Vellum, and then to another die-cut Misty Moonlight.

I love the patterned paper in the background, don't you?  All this card needed was a little Seaside Spray Bakers Twine to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today; please take a minute to vote for your favorite cards here.

Sympathy Cards

Sympathy cards...those we hate to need, but need to have.  I created this one for a good friend, whose dad recently passed:

Inspiring Iris was stamped on Basic White cardstock, and colored with Stampin' Blends.  After mounting it to Highland Heather (cut with Stitched So Sweetly dies) I wrapped it with  Gorgeous Grape sheer ribbon.

The beautiful new Pastel Pearls come in four colors - Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray - a perfect accessory for many of your creations.

The greeting, from the FREE Sale-a-Bration set, Heal Your Heart, was stamped directly on the lovely Oh So Ombre paper (another FREE Sale-a-Bration choice).

I hate to have to make sympathy cards, but I love being able to send a little comfort to my friends.
