Fan Card

I've got an interesting card for you today.  This is a Fan Card, which you'll probably know how it got it's name when you take a look:

I saw this demonstrated on Lisa Curcio's page and decided to give it a try.  I must say it is relatively easy, but not for the faint of heart!  😁

The finished card measures 5" x 7" - a whopper of a card, and one that does not fit into a standard envelope.  But if you are fortunate enough to still have an Envelope Punch Board, you can easily make one that fits out of matching Designer Series Paper.

Lisa has a cutting template which I used to cut my papers.  And she has a great video showing you just how to put it together.

I used Old Olive cardstock for the base and Daffodil Delight for the layers and inside.  And the patterned paper is one of my favorites - Floral Delight.

If you haven't seen the Thoughtful Moments hybrid embossing folder, you are missing out!  This great die/embossing folder set cuts and embosses several greetings; I chose "Just Because" as my card will be going to a good friend for no other reason than to say hi!

Inside there is plenty of room to write a message:

Don't you love the way the Basic White layer is angled so you don't see it when the card is closed?  I stamped a little flower using the Delightful Wishes stamps with Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive inks.

If you are up for a little challenge, check out Lisa's website and try creating your own Fan Card.

It's worth the effort, don't you think?

Celebrate

I've got a simple, no stamping card for you today, as I was playing with some new products and ways to use them, and came up with this:

 Flowers in a pocket!

That "pocket" is actually the banner piece from the Birthday Celebration dies.  It would make a wonderful banner, but I wanted to "think outside the box" a little.  So I made it a vase.

I used the Forever Plaid embossing folder to create a little texture, and mounted it on a Basic White layer cut with the new Textured Notes dies (coming in March).

The flowers are cut with the Delightful Wishes dies and arranged into a little bouquet.  And I used the Thoughtful Moments hybrid embossing folder to ink, cut and emboss the "celebrate".

Sometimes die-cuts can make the prettiest cards with no stamping!

More Delightful Wishes

I'm on a roll!  Although I took a break from the Delightful Wishes stamp set over the weekend to create some needed birthday cards (you'll see them soon), I was drawn back to this set for another round.  This time I did not stamp the flowers; instead I cut them with the coordinating Delightful Wishes dies.

 Such a different look!

The flowers were cut with Petal Pink for the base and Calypso Coral for the detailed centers.  NOT my usual colors, but once I decided on the background paper (from the Floral Delight paper pack) I sought out colors that coordinate well with Pecan Pie.  These two look great, and I chose Lost Lagoon and Pool Party for the leaves.

Do you spot another new item?  How about that lattice background?  Cut with the Linked Together dies from the January- April 2025 Mini Catalog, I used Pretty Peacock to contrast with the leaf and flower colors.

Since my floral design takes up much of the page, I thought a small greeting would suffice.  Wonderful Thoughts has dies to cut around the stamps, and this "hello" fit perfectly.

So many options for creating beautiful cards with the Floral Delight Suite, which includes the Delightful Wishes stamps and dies as well as the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper (and a few other products that complement these items).  Stamp flowers or cut them out - many possibilities!
