Saying Good-bye

Well, I AM saying good-bye, but not to you!  It's time for Stampin' UP!'s annual retirement of products so I am saying good-bye to all the products on this card 😭:

Oh, these colors!  I will certainly miss them!  Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen...such a rich duo!

This was one of my Club cards this month.  I was saying good-bye to many of the colors that are retiring, and decided these two would look great together with a daffodil!

Catch the shine!  The Fine Shimmer paper came out in the January - April 2023 Mini Catalog, and has been one of my favorites.  It is in three colors - Soft Succulent, Gold and Fresh Freesia (and it appears that this is still available right now, at a reduced price of only $8.00 for 6 sheets of 12" x 12" paper - a great price!).  I used the Gold to cut a strip for the edge of my card.

And speaking of shimmer - look at that greeting!  I heat-embossed it in gold, and it looks so shiny!  It is from another retiring stamp set, Inspired Thoughts.

And then that daffodil - yup, more retiring product.  I've loved the Daffodil dies, but sadly, they are going away.   However, they are still on the Last Chance list at a discounted price of only $15.20!!!

A "swan song" for so many lovely products.  I will truly miss them, but I'm already seeing some great new items that will keep me very satisfied!

Don't miss out on the Last Chance products!  Sale going on now, and you can find great bargains.  Check out the list here.

Treat Trug

I happened upon Liz Shannon's tutorial for creating a garden trug (usually an open wooden box with a handle for carrying flowers and/or garden tools).  I thought it was adorable, and made my own:

 Cute?  I think so!

I followed Liz' directions with a few exceptions.  Since most trugs are made of wood, I wanted mine to look like it was too, so I embossed panels for the front and sides with the Timber embossing folder.

This is quite a sturdy little box!

I decorated mine with daffodils (from the Daffodil dies).  I am SO ready for spring!

I needed a treat box for my Sunday class (I had made Mini Pocket Envelopes from the dies, and filled them with Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Bunnies).

There is a divider in the box, so it worked well:

You can probably imaging that my ladies were thrilled when they saw it.  Unfortunately I didn't share the directions for creating it, but they DID get to take their treats!

There is about one month left for items in the 2022-23 Annual Catalog and the January - April 2023 Mini Catalog.  I suspect some of these items will soon be retired.  So if you have favorites (Daffodil dies, Mini Envelopes dies, Timber embossing folder) you may want to get your hands on them now.  Click the pic below and go straight to my online store!

Daffodils for the New Year

 Happy New Year!  Wow!  2023...

I needed a thank you card for a customer who placed the last order of 2022 with me, and I decided to mix a little old and new:

Remember the Daffodil dies?  They create such beautiful and real-looking flowers, and are one of my favorite dies.  But they are not NEW, and since new products are coming soon, let's take a look at that background.

This is the new Cane Weave embossing folder, coming January 5th in the January - April 2023 Mini Catalog.  It's lovely, and is much nicer in person than in photos.

And check out this cute dragonfly:

The Dragonfly Trinkets are also from the new Mini, and are really sweet!

And then, of course, are the Daffodils - cut with Daffodil Delight (isn't that perfect?), Crushed Curry and Garden Green.  LOVE!

Such a pretty spring-like card (just what I need during all this rain!).  Mixing old and new products always makes me smile!

The new Mini is almost here...and with it comes Sale-a-Bration, when every $50 purchase gets you a FREE product from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Get ready to shop!  And score a few free items from Sale-a-Bration!

Calendars?

If you are a customer of mine, you are probably aware of the ordering gift I send out during December, January and February - CALENDARS!

Yes, I love making little desktop calendars as a thank you to each person who places an order during these months.

So I've been playing with some designs and I've loved the way they came out.  Wanna see?

Aren't they pretty?  Let's look at each one individually.

Here's one using the Daffodil dies.  I first created the Basic White base, but before I folded on the score lines and closed it up, I added a piece of the Sun Prints designer paper that had been mounted to a slightly larger piece of Daffodil Delight.  The calendar (I order these from Tailored Expressions) was adhered to another piece of Daffodil Delight before adding it in the corner.

Then the flowers were cut with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green cardstock, assembled and added.  The numbers (from the now-retired Playful Alphabet dies) were cut using Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back of the Daffodil cardstock.

Then it's time to put it together; it only takes one strip of Tear& Tape adhesive, and the little calendar stands up.  Fun!  And the best thing?  These fold flat enough to place in a standard envelope for mailing!  Love it!

How about another?

This one uses so many of my favorite products!  Texture Chic DSP, Distressed Gold DSP, and the shells from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamps (Seaside Seashells dies), and gold embossing!  Beautiful!

After embossing the shells, I gave them a watercolor wash with Blushing Bride, Pool Party, and Smoky Slate inks.

And finally:

Geraniums!  ðŸ’—

Again using the Sun Prints DSP, but with Gray Granite.  The geraniums were stamped with Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves, Gray Granite for the flower pot, and a combo of Polished Pink and Melon Mambo for the flowers.  Then cut with the Geraniums dies!

I'm still playing so if you place an order you may get something different.  But which is your favorite?
