Feels Like Frost

Here in Oregon we are getting frosty weather.  Seems a little early to us, but we've only had one winter here, and last year, we are told, was quite mild.  So maybe the cold is normal, but it's definitely sweater (and jacket!) weather!

So maybe that's what made me pull out the Feels Like Frost patterned paper to make some thank-you cards.  I love the pretty photos on one side and the silver-touched patterns on the reverse.

The fold of this card is a little different.  The card base is cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4", but then I lopped off 1-1/4" from the front panel.  This allowed me to carry over the pretty paper on the front to the inside.

The patterned paper was cut 2-7/8" x 5-1/4", and then I moved the paper in the trimmer and cut another 1" so the pattern continues.   And see that border?  The Ornate Layers dies (the largest one) was used, but I only cut along the two longest sides, giving me a pretty border.  This was adhered to the back of the patterned paper, and then the piece was added to the card front.

On the inside, the 1" strip was glued to the right side of the card (lining it up with the piece on the front so the top and bottom are one continuous line).

I finished with some Adhesive Backed Snowflakes, sprinkled randomly over the front.

I was so happy with how these turned out that I made a few more!

Check out Feels Like Frost - a beautiful paper that needs very little else to create a lovely card!

Dragonfly Garden

Ready to see some new products coming your way in January?  That's right, with the upcoming January - June 2021 Mini Catalog, there are some wonderful new stamps and accessories, including this one from the Dragonfly Garden Bundle.

The stamped images and the patterned paper is new, and just lovely.  And there's a coordinating punch for the dragonfly (and the baby dragonfly!).

And check out the background paper on the right side of the card - I punched several of the dragonflies from the Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhered them to the card base, creating my own background paper!

The floral image was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and colored with Blends.  And the dragonfly was stamped, colored and punched, then added with Dimensionals.

Won't this make a pretty addition to your stamp collection for spring?

Need a January - June Mini Catalog?  I send them to all my current customers; place an order before November 30, and receive one from me.  Or contact me to find out how you can get a FREE copy.

Plaid Merry Monday

I love a little plaid at the holidays, don't you?  Somehow that warm, wooly blanket feel makes me all cozy.  So how about a little plaid for today's Merry Monday?

I don't know about you, but this screams "Christmas" to me!  ðŸ¤¶

So how did I get that plaid background?  Buffalo Check!  A large, background stamp, and my Stamparatus.  I started by inking up the stamp (mounted to my Stamparatus) with Cherry Cobbler ink; once stamped to my liking (I had to stamp a few times to fill in all those squares, but it's easy with the Stamparatus) I stamped it on a piece of Window Sheet.  Then I moved my stamped cardstock under the Window Sheet until my new color (Garden Green) was in the blank spots, and stamped again (and again) using the Garden Green.  It worked perfectly!

Next I used the new Curvy dies (coming in the January - June Mini Catalog, but available now in the Quite Curvy Bundle) to create the curved edges.  And stamped the greeting directly on the card base.

Isn't that tree fabulous?  It's from Winter Woods, and stamped twice with Garden Green ink.  Then I cut them both with the In The Woods dies, using both the outline die (for the bottom tree) and the detailed tree die for the one on top, which was stacked with Dimensionals for a 3D tree.  LOVE!

And look at the inside:

In keeping with the "curvy" look, I stamped the images (from Curvy Christmas, available now!) using Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler inks.

Someone's going to receive a cozy, curvy Christmas card this year!

Simple Sympathy

Here's a card we all need from time to time, always hoping it won't be necessary.  Sympathy cards are never easy to make, but I have one here that I think will be a perfect card for the needed moment:

Copper and Mossy Meadow - what a lovely combination!

The copper frame is a retired die/embossing folder combo but one I can't get rid of.  Setting it against an embossed background (Scripty embossing folder) just enhances the gorgeous texture of the card.

I stamped a background of Sheet Music (also retired) using Sahara Sand ink, stamped off.  The sentiment is from Peaceful Moments, stamped in Mossy Meadow.  And the bouquet of leaves were die cut and tied with some upcoming Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim (coming in the January - June Mini Catalog).

This is so elegant and calming, and I know it could easily become a beautiful birthday card with just a quick change of greeting.  That's why I love Stampin' UP! products - they can be used for so many occasions and all the products coordinate beautifully!
