Wednesday's "What's On the Desk?"

Time for another round of "What's on the Desk?"

Each Wednesday I show you a project using the left-over pieces from the previous week's stamping, turned into something new.

And since I showed you this card yesterday, you can probably guess what was left over:

Yes, another bunny from Sweet Little Something, some Powder Pink and Soft Sky cardstock and some of the Whisper White Organza ribbon.

What to do...what to do...

Well, I was about to deliver an order to a customer, who had purchased product for her daughter's (a very talented young stamper) Easter basket.  And she earned the Party Pandas Sale-a-Bration stamp set FREE.  So I thought maybe her daughter would like a tag for her panda set, and here is what I made:

I cut the bunny  with the Layering Ovals Framelits and added it to two pieces of cardstock - a Powder Pink banner (punched with the Banner Triple Punch) and Soft Sky (with a little added decorative edge from a retired punch).  And I stamped the sentiment from the set using Soft Sky ink.

The White Organza Ribbon was added at the top, and the bunny got a little flower to hold.  Then the tag was added to the stamp set:

and is ready for the Easter basket.

I hope you liked my What's On the Desk? creation.  Now take a look at what's on YOUR desk, and see what you can create.

Somebunny Special!

Get ready for the cute factor!  This stamp is SO cute, I can hardly stand it!  You should have heard the "ohs" and "ahs" at my last Card Club--everyone who completed stamping commented on the perfect little bunny:

Naturally we had to make an Easter card...well, wait a minute...I made an Easter card, but you should have seen the options and what everyone did.

But all attendees agreed:  this bunny is the CUTEST!

We all got an introduction to the Stamparatus, Stampin' Up!'s new stamp positioning tool, making it's debut June 1st.  I had previously positioned the three stamps used to create the bunny on my Stamparatus, and everyone took turns stamping.  And the comments kept coming...

Not everyone wanted an Easter card; two attendees were celebrating the births of friend's babies, so they chose "Sweet Little Somebunny" for their sentiment.  And others liked "Hip Hop Hooray".  But all of us agreed that this is a super cute stamp set, and it's versatile enough to be added to everyone's collection.

Our card base was Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock, with a layer of Soft Suede embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder (available one week more through Sale-a-Bration).  Our bunny was stamped in Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand inks on Very Vanilla, and then cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  It was layered over two more ovals, of Powder Pink and Soft Sky.  And our card was finished with some Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon.

Such a sweet card!

Inspiration Sunday

Last week I shared this card, inspired by a painting I saw in a bookstore:

Today I have another card inspired by something I saw:

This pretty china was featured in a catalog from Sur La Table, and it was so lovely that I wanted to recreate it in a card.

What do you think?

I pulled out nearly every flower stamp I have and started inking them up.  Jar of Love, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Painted Harvest and the FREE Sale-a-Bration offering, Lots of Lavender were used in a variety of bright colors to mimic the pattern in the china.

All the flowers were initially stamped on a single piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cardstock.  But as I started playing with the layout of the card, I decided to slice the piece into three strips.  Although I planned to adhere them to Melon Mambo and then to a Thick Whisper White base, I found I liked the strips layered just on the pink.  Striking, don't you think?

Yup, inspiration is everywhere--take a look around and see what inspires you to create.  I'll be sharing my Inspiration Sunday each week; come back and see what else has tickled my fancy!
