Lovely Wildflowers

Time for an anniversary card, for my brother and sister-in-law.  While searching for ideas, I came across a card in the annual catalog on page 175, and decided to CASE it.  (CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything, and papercrafters often use ideas, either in their entirety or in parts and pieces, to recreate, or create new, cards.)

Here is mine:

The ideas used are a background of Designer Series Paper - in this case, Delightful Daisy - a layer of Vellum, the Lots of Labels Framelits dies, and using the Wild About Flowers stamp.  Oh, and I also used a piece of Doily.

But here the cards differ:  colors, stamping technique, ribbon and sentiment.  I also think the card in the catalog, although a larger size, is not square.

So here are some details if you want to CASE my card:

The card base is a 5" square of Pear Pizzazz, with a layer of Whisper White and another of the Delightful Daisy DSP (each square is 1/4" smaller than the one underneath it).

The Cardstock Vellum was cut and the edges roughed up with an old distressing tool (a nail file also works).

See the flowers?  I used the "rock 'n roll" technique.  The stems were stamped first in Pear Pizzazz.  The flowers were then inked in Peekaboo Peach and then I rolled the edges on the Calypso Coral ink pad, giving the flowers a two-tone look.

The Lots of Labels dies was a perfect fit for the flowers.  Now look at that "love".  Do you know where that comes from?  Check out the Lovely Words Thinlits - I cut one in Peekaboo Peach, then trimmed the "lovely" down to "love".  Cute, huh?

A sliver of a Delicate Doily and bow of (now retired) Peekaboo Peach ribbon finishes the front of the card.

And inside:

more flowers and a perfect-font sentiment from Timeless Love (also retired, but I just can't give it up!  Do you have stamps like that?).
