Card Club Pocket Cards

Here's a cute idea for a little different card, but one that still fits in a standard envelope:

This is a pocket card, and it's an easy way to make a pretty note card that doesn't need a lot of space for the note.

Start with a standard 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock; score it at 4-1/4" and again at 1-3/4".  You'll fold the card in half, as a regular card, but then fold the small flap down, over the front.  (The center fold is at the bottom of your pocket.)

Decorate with your choice of Designer Series Paper--you'll need one 4" x 5-1/4" piece for the inside, another piece that is 4" x 2-1/4" for the bottom front, and one more 4" x 1-1/2" piece for the flap.  Adhere these, and then use some Tear and Tape Adhesive on the inside edges to close your pocket.  Also adhere the front flap down, creating your pocket for your notecard.

The notecard is 3-1/2" x 3-1/4" (I used Thick Whisper White, with a layer of DSP and a smaller piece of Whisper White on top).  Using the smallest oval in the Stitched Shapes framelits, cut a piece of coordinating cardstock, fold it in half, and staple it to the top of your notecard.  This is what you'll use to pull out the card out of the pocket.

We made these in our Card Club last month--everyone had a choice of colors for their DSP (I was using up the rest of my Subtles Paper Stack, which was retiring, but any DSP can work), and we stamped the daisy image from the Daisy Delight set in matching ink.  The leaves were stamped on Old Olive cardstock and fussy cut.  We finished with a White Perfect Accent for the center of our flowers.

Thanks to Debbie Henderson for the pocket card tutorial.
