Cheers to the Season

Cheers to the Season is a new stamp set, making an appearance in the upcoming September - December 2023 Mini Catalog.  This "DistINKtive" stamp set features Christmas ornaments, a maple leaf and a champagne glass.  Definitely a great holiday set!

But today is my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary.  I really wanted a unique card to celebrate their years together...and what could be more fitting than a glass of champagne?

This works, right?  A toast to the happy couple?

I first stamped one glass in Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then I placed a mask over the stamped image, inked up the stamp again, and stamped a second glass overlapping the first.  When the mask is removed it looks like the second glass is behind the first one.  Such a neat technique.

So how do you create a mask?  It's actually very simple.  Stamp your image on a piece of Masking Paper (or you can use a Post-It note, being sure much of the image is over the "sticky" part), then cut out the image, trimming just inside the image (so there is no border).

Stamp your first image (in this case the glass on the left); place your mask over the image and then stamp your second one (the glass on the right).  Part of the stamp will be on the mask; when you remove it, the second image will look like it's behind the first.  Easy!  And so effective!

I cut out the glasses and mounted them to a Deckled Circle (eek!  New dies!) of Petal Pink.  This was adhered to a piece of the beautiful OnLine Exclusive paper, Hello Irresistible, and then on a Flirty Flamingo base.

I originally stamped the champagne bubbles, but decided to give this card some bling!  I placed Rhinestone Basic Jewels over the bubbles.

So yes or no?  Is this stamp set appropriate for occasions other than the holidays?  I think so...how about you?

The September - December 2023 Mini Catalog will be available for ordering on September 6th.  Need a catalog?  Please contact me, and I'll make sure you receive one.
