Sometimes Life Gives You Lemons...But Not Today!

Yes, sometimes life doesn't work out just as you had planned.  For those of you who have been following along, you know that I had a very minor knee surgery in March, and that everything that could go wrong did!  I'm still working on recovery; had a second surgery and spent a week in the hospital two weeks ago (hence my absence the past two weeks!) and came home with IV antibiotics that I administer myself every twelve hours.  For another two weeks...(insert unhappy face!).

But I digress.  Today is NOT the day to dwell on my lemons, but instead to get excited about the brand new 2017-18 Annual Catalog!  Because today is the day to place your orders!

I will say that having this new catalog helped get me through the past few weeks.  I had something to look forward to, made out my shopping list (and edited it over and over), and played with some of the new products I was able to preorder.  And now I can't wait to place my order for the other things on my list...my very long list...

So here are two cards using mostly new products:

This wonderful bundle of products is called Lovely Inside & Out.  It includes (at a 10% savings!) the Lovely Inside & Out Stamp Set and the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.  I only used the dies here.

The thinlits consist of a circle, an oval and a heart, all with a word in the center.  When you cut it out it leaves a negative space in your cardstock; but each shape coordinates with the Layering Circles, Ovals or Sweet & Sassy (hearts) framelits, so you can cut them out, as I did here.

After cutting the "hugs" shape, I cropped it with a Layering Circle framelit.  This was then placed on a piece of Whisper White (also cut with the same circle), and layered on Lemon Lime Twist and Island Indigo circles.  I ran my Island Indigo base through the Big Shot with the now retired Large Polka Dot embossing folder (the Polka Dot Basics folder will take it's place and is available today), and there's a layer of DSP on Lemon Lime Twist.  What a standout!  Some ribbon and enamel shapes finish off this card.

And how about this one:
A softer version for a special friend.

This has a Pool Party base (this retired embossing folder has a new counterpart - "Garden Trellis") with dual layers of Melon Mambo and new Powder Pink from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  The "friend" sentiment was cropped with the Layering Ovals, and has additional layers of Powder Pink and Pool Party.   The finishing touches include cutouts from the Flourish Thinlits, and new Glitter Enamel Dots (temporarily on back order and not available today due to the fact that demonstrators loved them SO much, we bought out the entire stock!  Yikes!  But more are on the way!)

So are you ready to play?  Pull out your catalog and start your engines!  The time is now!
Ready, Set, Go!
