Am I Cheating?

I've confessed before that I hate to make multiples of cards.  But I had an idea for an anniversary card that I was really excited about, and since I had two couples to create for, I decided to use the same design...is that cheating?

My mom and dad just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.  Can you say WOW?  Can you imagine - 66 years?  With the same person?

And my son and daughter-in-law just had their 11th anniversary.  Another WOW - because I can't possibly be old enough to have a son who has been married for 11 years!

Anyway, my parents live on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and my son/DIL live in San Jose, California.  Fat chance that they would receive and compare their anniversary cards, right?  And none of them follow my blog (what?)...so I figured I would be safe.

And here are the cards:

L.O.V.E.!

I really do love these cards...

The base for both are Thick Whisper White.  The one on the left has a layer of Cherry Cobbler and another of Gold Foil, while the one on the right has a layer of Rich Razzleberry and Silver Foil.

The top layer is Watercolor Paper, and here is where the magic happens.

I sprayed the Watercolor Paper with water, then, using an AquaPainter, laid down my colors.  The "warm" card uses Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze; the "cool" card uses Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst and Rich Razzleberry.  I also added some "splats" using the now "vintage" Gorgeous Grunge.

After letting my watercolored background dry, I added the elements, cut using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  The hearts were cut once in each color (Cherry Cobbler or Rich Razzleberry) and the "love" was cut twice for each color and layered together to give them a little depth.

The finishing touches were some of my favorite new embellishments--the Glitter Enamel Dots.

So what do you think?  Will the anniversary couples be happy with their cards?
