The Wacky Watercooler Group Celebrates the New Catalog!

Yes it's time to enjoy another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!

Join us as we celebrate new In Colors, new Stamps and new Designer Series Papers!  Our blog hop is circular; jump on anywhere and click on the links to travel to the next one.  You may have just come from  Marie's Tanglewood Cottage--she always inspires me to try something new!  If you just hopped on here, please visit the other artists who are showcasing their creations.  You won't be disappointed!

So many new things...where to start?  I'll begin with my favorite new In Color, Peekaboo Peach:

I began with the beautiful new Floral Phrases stamp set, with the matching Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies and made a simple thank you note.  This is not a traditional card; there is no real card base.  Instead I used a single, 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake and then built up.  Those beautiful thinlits create a lacy "door" over my thank you note:

which slides out of the pocket.  I stamped the flower with Peekaboo Peach Ink on Very Vanilla, layered it to more Peekaboo Peach cardstock, and slid it into the pocket, which is tied closed with three strands of the new 5/8" Burlap Ribbon.

I finished by brushing Clear Wink of Stella over the flowers--a pretty, subdued, monochromatic card in my favorite new peachy In Color.

Now for my favorite new stamp set:  Birthday Fiesta!

Let's party!  I have made a little party favor with some Fiesta flair--this is the new Popcorn Box Thinlits dies, cut from one of my favorite new DSP's--Festive Birthday.  Love those little cacti!  Then I stamped my llama and cactus, along with the banner and cut them out with the matching framelits...so cute!

Now how can you resist this little guy?  Isn't he cute, all dressed up with his fancy neckware and sombrero?  (That was fussy-cut from the DSP, as was his guitar).

Banners, banners and more banners...gotta love this entire suite of products!  I'm going to enjoy using this set for so many occasions!

And now my nod to new DSP.  I actually have to say that the above Festive Birthday is my fav--the colors and the patterns all tickle my fancy.  But there is one other paper stack that you shouldn't miss:  Serene Scenery--take a look:

This pretty 6" x 6" paper has a photo on one side, with patterned paper on the other.  The photo sides are so pretty--a few with outdoor meadow scenes, clouds or ocean beaches, and some, like this one, with a more abstract print.  I love the bokeh look and this paper captures it beautifully.

So what did I do with it?
Using the fun Pun Intended Host set (can be yours with a qualifying purchase), I stamped the camera with Versamark ink and embossed it using Gold Embossing Powder.  This was cut out by hand and layered on a starburst from Superstar, also embossed with Gold, cut out and layered on a circle of Gold Foil

The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive, cut and layered under the camera.  And can you see the Gold Glimmer paper in the flash?  A fun little bonus.  Serene Scenery was layered on a piece of Whisper White, then on Gold Foil, with a Whisper White Thick cardstock base.

So that's it for me!  I hope you've enjoyed my favorite new things...now on to see Penny Hanuszak, an artist with a wonderful eye for detail.  Thanks for visiting!

  4. Oh Priscilla your projects are outstanding, all three of them! I'm like Deb in that the Fiesta set is growing on me too. Your first card stole my heart with it's lacey elegance and the Peekaboo Peach looks so dreamy in this combination. I wasn't really fussy about the DSP when I saw it, but after seeing your Serene Scenery card and how this particular DSP works so well with the gold embossing, I'll take a second look. Great cards! Thanks as always for inspiring.

  5. Fiesta in a box - how much fun is that? Very cute. Love your Pekaboo Peach card - I have to say I'm liking that colour more than I thought I would. As for the Serene Scenery DSP - I just got it and it's gorgeous. Now, you've inspired me to use it!

  6. Priscilla, the Peekaboo Peach really is stunning in that wonderful slide-out note card. What I love about that colour is that it has such a very unique look and goes with so many other colours. Your Serene Scenery card, too, is simply gorgeous. But for sheer fun and colour and a sense of whimsy, I'll take the Popcorn Box party favour. You've combined the stamp set and the DSP in such a bright and happy fashion that I defy anyone not to love it. I know that I certainly do.
