Wild About Flowers

My husband and I took a walk through the wonderful arboretum at University of California, Davis.  They have a fantastic collection of plants (I guess all arboretums do) and we thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the flora.  I especially  like wildflowers...so this set was mine!

Wild About Flowers has three different kinds of wildflowers, with stems that you stamp and coordinating flowers that are stamped separately.  The beauty of it is that there are little tabs on each stamp to help you align them perfectly.  Makes me wild about this stamp set!

My black-and-white-with-a-pop-of-color card has a Basic Black card base with a Whisper White layer that has take a trip through the Big Shot with the Fluttering Embossing Folder (just seemed appropriate to have butterflies in the background).

The flower stems were inked in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (although now that we have Basic Black Archival ink I'd probably choose that first) and the flowers were stamped using Watermelon Wonder.

Two frames and a strip across the bottom are from Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper; the frames were made using two sizes of Squares Collection Framelits (you can nest two squares together and cut them out at the same time, leaving you with a frame).

Such an easy but effective card--a definite "eye-popper"!
