July Card Club Card

We had a good time at our July Card Club, making four VERY different cards.  I'll  show them to you over the next several days.

First up:
I've never bragged about my ability to create vintage cards, and this one is certainly not a standout, but it IS quite pretty.

How to make this card:
  1. Cut Soft Suede Cardstock to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score in half at 4-1/4" to make the card base
  2. Stamp a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock with the small "splats" from Gorgeous Grunge with Soft Suede ink, stamping off one time
  3. Run the white cardstock with splats through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder
  4. Sponge your bricks with Soft Suede ink and a Stampin' Sponge--this can be heavy sponging (like mine) or lighter
  5. Adhere to card base
  6. Stamp roses from Floral Wings on a piece of Whisper White, approximately 3-1/2" x 3", using Watermelon Wonder ink
  7. Ink up the butterfly with Soft Suede ink and line up the roses; stamp
  8. Stamp leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink
  9. Cut butterfly using Bold Butterfly Framelits and Big Shot
  10. Add Pearls Basic Jewels down the center of your butterfly
Now it's time to build your card:
  1. Adhere a smidge less than one half of a Tea Lace Doily to your brick wall
  2. Add a piece of Watermelon Wonder Lace Trim
  3. Cut a piece of White Jute Ribbon (about 3-1/2" long) into 3 strips; keep two of them for another card
  4. Pull apart the ends of the White Jute Ribbon, so it looks like cat whiskers; adhere to card
  5. Take a length of Gold Metallic Thread and wrap it around your fingers about 3 times; squish it in the middle and slide it off your hand.  With Dimensionals on the back of your butterfly, stick the balled up Gold Thread to the butterfly with pieces coming out both sides--this is not scientific--just a wadded up piece of thread
  6. Adhere butterfly (with Dimensionals) to your card
  7. Stamp your sentiment (I used And Many More) on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White; flag the end with the Banner Punch; adhere to card under butterfly wing
  8. Add some Gold Sequin Trim (pull individual sequins off the string) and glue to your card with Two-Way Glue
 You're done!

Products used to make this card can be purchased here.

Now go make something!
