A Dinorawr Welcome
I have a new grand-nephew! Wow, that makes me sound really old! My niece recently gave birth to her son, and I commemorated the occasion with this (and a gift 😄):
So this is where it all started. Then I needed to build around his name. I absolutely adore the Hand Lettered Prose alphabet dies! They are so easy to create ANY word with!
My Balmy Blue panel was cut with the letters, embossed with the Subtle embossing folder, and mounted with Dimensionals over a piece of Night of Navy.
Then came the dinosaurs--each stamped with a different blue (Night of Navy, Pool Party and Seaside Spray) and cut with the coordinating Dino dies. So cute!
My card "grew" when I realized I couldn't fit everything on a standard card base. So I just added some Granny Apple Green (embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder) and more Night of Navy, which then gave me room for the palm tree (also part of the Dino Days suite). I just had to add some grass (Lakeside dies) to finish off the card.
I'm sure little Max will be a Dino lover before long...
Check out Hand Lettered Prose - being able to create any word you want makes this SUCH a versatile set of dies! I know you'll love them as much as I do!

My grandson is a total dinosaur freak, so I thought I may as well start my new nephew off on the right foot.
This card didn't come out ANYTHING like I had planned, but I was really happy with the results. What started with the panel with the name cut-out blossomed into a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" card! Does that ever happen to you?

Wednesday's What's On the Desk?
I have a box of "orphaned" card pieces that never made it to an actual card. So sad...so today I pulled out my box for my Wednesday's What's on the Desk? Watch me create with bits and pieces.
This was my starting point. Lots of pieces with nowhere to go...but let's change that.
I have an idea, and I need some pretty flowers. The Happy Birthday To You (FREE Sale-a-Bration item) is a good place to start.
Now how to combine all these pieces into a card.
I've got this piece of Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles paper sitting around, so I cut a few of the leaves with the Birthday dies.
Now, where am I going?
OK, liking it...but needs a little more Bermuda Bay to go with the "happy"...
How about some sprigs from the same dies? Yes, please, in the Noble Peacock foil to match the word.
And what color for the greeting? Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green or Daffodil Delight?
Oh, that last one is my favorite.
The circle needed some texture, so I embossed it (retired embossing folder 😟).
Lots of layering, but I like it. Still needs something though...
Yes! Noble Peacock and Holiday Rhinestones! Perfect bits of bling.
OK, ready for my closeup:
Here we are - lots of leftovers that, with the help of a new stamp set, come together in a lovely card.

I like the yellow scalloped circle on my desk, so let's make these flowers Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.
